Fast food restaurant ranking

I really dislike subway. Firehouse is much better.

Papa John’s is my favorite pizza.

Subway - yuck. If one needs a sandwich, Jimmy Johns is a much better option, IMO.

Chipotle gets a lot of business from S and his friends. I will go there with him occasionally and order a burrito bowl.

I like the Unwich option at Jimmy Johns.

Jet’s Pizza is really good. Hawaiian and Chicken Parmesan are favorites.

I would agree that Panera is not as good as it was in the past, but I did meet a friend there recently and ordered the Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad. It was delicious. I think it is only offered here during the summer months.

I have never been to Bojangles, but I want to go now.

We just got Firehouse. Only had it once but it was a pretty tasty sandwich. Definitely better than Subway.

Paneras is just ok to me. Their salad dressings are awful. About a year ago, I wrote to corporate about how bad their ranch dressing is (how hard is it to have good ranch dressing when the rest of the country can easily provide that???) Others must have been complaining as well because ranch dressing completely disappeared as an option.

Their turkey avocado sandwich is tolerable. Their breakfasts are awful. Their pumpkin muffins are good, and big enough to easily share.

Hrh- that’s the salad I had!

Whichwich is my favorite fast sandwich place.

It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who wonders what the appeal of Panera is. It’s a place we avoid (after having tried it). We didn’t like the flavor or the quantity for the price. The quantity would have been ok if the flavor was good, but…

Nobody is talking about Popeyes? It’s terrible for my health, but an occasional Popeye’s spicy chicken is great. So is the rice and beans.

DH loves Popeyes. I dont. Only like their biscuits. What about Subway?

Subway is terrible. I’d only eat there if there were no other choice. A few years back I was eating in a restaurant, and next table was a Subway headquarters employee telling me how unhappy their franchisees were with corporate, and that business was not good. They oversold franchises and their products are stale and not innovative.

My DS loved Subway turkey and cheese sandwiches almost as much as Chick Fil A. I am fine with it. Also like Moes and Willies despite the fact that I am not a big fan of southwest food.

Actually, except for when we are driving somewhere on a long trip, I dont got to any fast food palces.

I think much of the appeal of Panera is that it’s a “something for everyone” place. It has sandwiches. It has salads. It has soup. It has things that little children will eat (a problem for many families at Chipotle). It has vegetarian choices. And it’s acceptable to the one person in your group who hates Chinese or Mexican or Italian or Indian food.

It’s rarely anyone’s first choice, but it’s a place that everyone can agree on. And the food is reasonably OK, especially in comparison to McDonalds.

Today, when I expect to need to get a quick lunch between errands, I won’t go to Panera. There are other places I like better. But on the day after Christmas, when our whole family, including out-of-town visitors, wanted to get something to eat after seeing a movie together, Panera was where we ended up because it was OK with everyone.

Besides, I feel as though I should give them my business from time to time because when our cable Internet goes out – as it does all too often – I take my laptop and sit in the Panera parking lot and steal their Wi-Fi.

My D likes Panera. She used to hang out there with friends before college or on breaks. I have been at Penara a couple times. I don’t think it’s really a fast food restaurant.

Have to agree with the innovative part. One of my biggest gripes with chains like Subway is that they only have a small handful of base ingredients… any “new” product they come out with is just a permutation of the same ingredients. Even their pizza thing uses the same flat bread, sauce, and toppings used for the sandwiches.

I understand WHY they do it, but still…

Anyone likes Quiznos and Togo’s?

I remember when Subway was a little local chain in Connecticut. There was one in a shopping center near my father’s house in Stamford. I bought a sandwich there and was unimpressed. It was so easy to get better sandwiches at non-chain places nearby.

Yet somehow, Subway took over the world.

I believe all our Quizno’s left town. Not too popular.

Lucky timing for Subway. When the choice was either Mickey D or BK, Subway’s stuff was a step up: half-edible and seemed healthier. By getting Olympians on board to promote its sandwiches, Subway made itself appealing to parents of young athletes. I rember we were rejoicing when Subway replaced the awful concession stand at our big swimming pool…

One of my kids likes Subway. I used to like Togos. I’m waiting for Shade Shack to come to LA. I like El Polo Loco.
Haven’t eaten anything in the good and bad list for a while like in 5 years.
