Thank you to all who recommended the Woodwick candles…I bought one today and I love the crackling sound! I got the vanilla and sea salt scent which is nice and light.
I was looking the Woodwick candles up on Amazon - about $25 for a 22 ounce candle - does that sound about right?
Anyone familiar with the sand and driftwood scent? If so, can you describe it?
Thought maybe my D who likes candles and loves fireplaces - but does not have a working fireplace - would like this.
I am not a crazy candle person although I like those LED candles made to feel like wax for safety and ease. For real candles I buy the Votivo Clean Crisp White.
I have found candles at Ross Stores that are not Woodwick brand but very similar for great prices. I may have gotten Woodwick there but currently mine are a different brand with a wood wick. Can’t tell a difference except the price. I just looked and I had already removed the price but I know it was a good price. Don’t remember the Woodwick price but I know it is higher.
Bed Bath and Beyond carries wood wick candles. The price on amazon seems to be in line. Candles are one thing I like to smell in person, like cologne as it’s very personal
^^Thanks @deb922 - I agree that as much as I steer away from shopping in stores, maybe I should make a trip to a BBB and do some smell testing - then I can use a coupon that I might have at home too!
I’m really curious about this “wood crackling” feature.
FYI I saw Woodwick candles at TJ Maxx today. $9.99. Limited scents of course. Picked up one for my D who has a birthday next week - she has a fake fireplace (mantel and hearth that is not actually open) so I thought she might like one to mimic the crackling wood. Curious to see how they work! Also checked HomeGoods when I stopped in there - they had a couple but TJ had a fair amount. The one I got her was a Trilogy one (3 scents layered).
My daughter loves the Woodwick candles!
Tried the soy candle we brought from Napa - wow. Very delicate scent, and it burned cleanly.
I’m personally very sensitive to fumes/scents, especially from candles and other things that are burning. I really had to stick with LED battery-operated candles, as I really don’t want to set anyone off on their allergies.
For several days I have been wondering when the candle thread and the sensitivity to public scents thread would meet in their inevitable collision. Apparently today at 2:43 pm.
^^^ Winning.
