Favorite Halloween Candy

What do you like to give out? Which one is your favorite?

I like to give out Kit Kat, and Twix bars. (I like to eat them too)

My favorite is Almond Joy. Growing up nobody wanted those so I used to get them from everyone’s treat bags.

Necco wafers.

Just kidding, but I do prefer to give out candy I hate. Necco wafers could get us egged, though, so maybe Twizzlers.

I like giving out Reese’s Peanut Butter, because I’m the only one in the house who likes them if they are left over. Favorites to eat by much of the family: probably York Peppermint Patties.

If I wanted something I wouldn’t be tempted to eat, it would be Almond Joy, because I’m allergic to coconut, but I’d be afraid to touch the packages. (And, yes, I know a number of people have the same issue with peanuts.)

Favorite candy to eat: candy corn. Many of you will probably feel queasy at the thought of eating it because you think it’s like eating pure sugar. That’s why I like it! Alas, I haven’t eaten it in at least 15 years because anything sweet is a trigger food for me.

Candy to hand out is usually a mixture of whatever we can get on sale.

Butterfingers. And it doesn’t even have to be Halloween.

Snickers, Almond Joy or Hershey with Almonds. Basically anything with nuts.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups–the best.

Whatever you do don’t give out Dole Mini Salad Fun Packs!

They are not real but it may plant an idea in the minds of some radical nutritionists for next year.

Send all your Necco wafers to me. I adore them. When I was riding the Pacific Coast this summer, and when I rode the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route two years ago, I treasured Necco wafers and bought them at every convenience store that had them. The pink ones are the best.

When my riding partner and I couldn’t get Neccos, we’d settle for candy corn.

In return, I’ll hand you any Halloween candy infested with peanuts: Snickers, Reeses, peanut M&Ms. The same fine convenience stores that sell Neccos also sell Almond Snickers, the only kind of good Snickers.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, M&Ms, Kit Kat Bars. But we also give out Skittles in a separate bowl for the non-peanut kids. So far, I haven’t opened the bag up, so I’m pretty proud of myself. One year, I ate so many Reese’s cups that I had to go out and buy more for the kids. Shame on me!

RE Candy Corn: I like to fill a glass candle jar with candy corn to surround the candle. It makes a cool glow when it’s lit. Except this year since my husband, my son, and my son’s friend keep eating it. So it’s pretty popular around here.

@HotCanary

That’s called the Parent Tax.

only one year? Every year…

For all you Reese’s fans, not entirely a poor choice.

KitKats! We get a box from Costco and the kids love getting a FULL SIZE CANDY BAR!!! WOW! that always makes my night when they say that! plus if there are left overs I love them!!

Tootsie Rolls and Tootsie Roll Pops!

Smarties.

I love Almond Joys. I also love candy corn mixed with peanuts.

Chocolate Necco wafers are definitely the best.

I’m a dimwit and didn’t figure out until a few years ago that Necco wafers and the little Valentine’s Day heart candies with the silly sayings printed on them in red are made of exactly the same ingredients.

I get Tootsie Rolls because my younger son likes them best, Butterfingers because my older son likes them best, and Reese’s Peanut butter cups because I like them best. DH says he doesn’t need to eat any of it. I also like the mixed bag of mini Hershey bars.

We have never had a trick or treater at our house, other than my S and his friends, so I haven’t bought Halloween candy in ages. When I did, I used to give out full-sized Nestle Crunch, Three Musketeers, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Heath Bars, and Caramel Twix.

I love candy corn. I love to bite off one color at a time.

If I were going to buy something because never, ever would I eat it myself it would be Twizzlers. Bleccch!

Of course, since I had a chocolate factory in the back of the house, it was always kind of ironic that we had no kids coming for candy. And I knew that if I gave them a truffle or something, that the idiots on TV would be preaching that all un-wrapped “treats” should be thrown out! Anyone remember when people would have cider and donuts?
