Favorite non-alcoholic low calorie beverages?

From Walmart, also more expensive from Mio

Why or why do they have to put any artificial sweeteners in these pods? Makes them useless for people like me. A teaspoon of granulated sucrose is under 30 calories. Not all of us are diabetic!

My daughter has a soda stream and really likes it. I first heard about them from a church friend at an Earthcare meeting (saves on packaging). Not a soda drinker myself so have not tried it.

Also my go-to. Most of the others (Spindrift, LaCroix, etc) are too bubbly for me. The essenza’s have just the right amount and their flavors don’t have that twangy fake taste.

Thank you. I’m not a soda drinker either; I’m considering it for carbonating my own flavored waters/teas. I just found out my friend has one so I’m going to “try it before I buy it.” :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I can report back if anyone is interested.

The Soda Stream brand only carbonates water that you can then mix with beverages. There are other brand names that will carbonate other liquids.

We’re planning a kitchen remodel (complete tear out), I should look into this.

The only thing I like with artificial sweeteners are mints. I rarely put sugar in drinks, but I recently bought some cold foam for fun, it’s only 25 calories.

This is not a built if filter, though if were doing a full reno I’d find a good spot for it and add a dedicated faucet (like the pot filling ones at the stove).

If we redo the mudroom I am going into look into adding a wall water filling station but those are super pricey.

BunsenBurner for President! :grinning:

I haven’t seen this mentioned here, but Trader Joe’s has a drink that is really, really good. It is their organic sparkling Apple Cider Vinegar beverage, in particular Elderberry and pomegranate or Lemon and Strawberry. 35 calories, just carbonated water and organic fruit juices. It tastes like it’s 200 calories. It’s refreshing and I’ll actually drink that instead of wine. Apple Cider sounded unappealing to me, but it adds just a bit more taste. It’s fantastic, and the first sparking beverage I’ve tried that doesn’t taste like diet fare.

I will have to look for that the next time I’m there!

For me to choose a beverage other than red wine after 7pm, it’s got to be good!

That is definitely a seal of approval! :+1::+1: I’ll look those up. Apple cider vinegar is used as a substitute of white wine in recipes.

I had this for the first time last week. It was really good! I had the Hazy IPA, which is 70 calories, but it’s one of my favorite styles of beer.

Yeah, you know me. If I’m reaching for that instead of red wine, something is strange in the world.:wine_glass:It’s generally in the same aisle with the chips and popcorn, in the drinks section, in cans. Perilously close to the red wine.

My D told us about another non-alcoholic drink with sparkling water, white tea, and elderberry called TÖST ROSÉ. It was excellent.

The TOST Rose is one of my daughter’s main choices for happy hour drinks while pregnant. Come in wine bottle size and individual size bottles.

Where do you get that tasty drink?

I get it at Whole Foods. I’ve also found it at a chain called Shaws (it used to be Star Market) in MA.
