Favorite super bowl half time shows...

Let’s vote…

I’m torn between Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga.

So far, this one is not in my top list.

Anyone else?

I’m not watching but I would say Prince, followed by Bruno the year alone , then Bruno and Beyoncé

Adam Levine took a lot of flack for accepting the invite this year - I think he’s doing a good job (so far) of keeping his performances entertaining but not controversial.

Well, mine would have to be Coldplay. 2016. That’s the one that really comes to mind.

I forgot about Prince…excellent!

WHY do they book artists they have to bleep out for cursing? They have so many talented people to choose from, and then this…

My favorite was when Bruno Mars and Beyonce “hijacked” Coldplay’s halftime show. Awesome dance-off.

Lady Gaga was great, too, as was Bruno of course. Michael Jackson and Beyonce did good ones too. And Paul McCartney.

Is this cheating to provide these reminders??

2018: Justin Timberlake, The Tennessee Kids, University of Minnesota Marching Band

2017: Lady Gaga

2016: Coldplay, Beyonce, Bruno Mars

2015: Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott

2014: Bruno Mars, Red Hot Chili Peppers

2013: Beyonce

2012: Madonna

2011: The Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Slash

2010: The Who

2009: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band

2008: Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers

2007: Prince and the Florida A&M marching band

2006: The Rolling Stones

2005: Paul McCartney

2004: Janet Jackson, Kid Rock, P. Diddy, Nelly and Justin Timberlake

2003: Shania Twain, No Doubt and Sting

2002: U2

2001: “The Kings of Rock and Pop” featuring Aerosmith, 'N’Sync, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige and Nelly

Other standouts for me: Rolling Stones (it was just a lot of fun), Prince, Justin T

Oh, that’s hard to pick one. My top 3 would have to be Prince, Lady Gaga, and U2

Bruno. Prince. Springsteen.

Had forgotten about Prince. Didn’t he soldier on bravely in a downpour? Or was that someone else?

Definitely Bruno Mars. I really, really didn’t like this year’s.

And Springsteen. I forgot about that one too.

How about commercials? Or should that be a separate thread?

That was so underwhelming that I went to youtube and rewatched Bruno and the RHCP - that was one non-stop party, so joyous, energetic, and fun. I’ve seen Maroon 5 live; they have pretty, harmless, over-produced pop songs but live their songs aren’t memorable. Live, they try to rock their pop songs hard, which was silly and made me laugh; at least they didn’t do that tonight. Instead they were snooozy. They did seem to pack the stage with a lot of minorities, as if to shield themselves.

@Nrdsb4 Yes, that was Prince in the rain. What a professional.

^^^ I’m a Maroon5 fan but will agree it was a little snoozy.

I don’t understand your last sentence of your post though @dazedandbemused

M5 got a lot of grief for agreeing to do the halftime show because a lot of artists are boycotting in support of Kaep. Their collaborator on their current big hit, Cardi B, turned down the invitation to perform with them, for example. M5 canceled their pre-show press conference to avoid questions. So seeing multiple rappers and a whole choir of minorities on stage with M5 tonight made it look like they were being used as shields from the continuing flak. (Hope that’s not too political.)

I agree with those picking Bruno and Prince.

I also agree with Katie Nolan who said “Super Bowl halftime nipple rules feel inconsistent”.

Does he always take his clothes off during a performance? (Not complaining, just asking  )

I don’t really pay much attention to the game or the shows, but I do remember enjoying Bruno Mars.

We were at a very large party during halftime. We ladies were very happy!
I loved Lady Gaga’s performance.
