I’m normally on High School Life, but I figured this thread won’t gain much traction there.
I don’t believe in coffee, so I bring a thermos of tea to school every day. I usually drink Twinings Pomegranate and Raspberry tea, but I occasionally enjoy green or white as well.
Jasmine Green all the way. Start out the morning that way - English Breakfast used to be the tea of choice, but the black teas have been too much for me recently. Twinings is great for every day, Trader Joe’s teas are also a daily favorite.
We all love Morrocan mint green tea by Stash. It was the perfect wake up when my girls were in high school. When I couldn’t find it in the store, I’d order it directly from Stash or on Amazon.
A friend’s son always asks for White Xmas when he comes over. It’s also by Stash and has white tea with mint and ginger.
I also love Lyons Irish tea. It is mellow and very hard to find over here. It’s a black Ceylon tea so if I ever run out, I will try another Ceylon tea and see how it is.
Celestial Seasonings Chamomile or Sleepytime at night. PG Tips, Lipton or Twinings Earl Grey in the afternoon. I drink the black teas with milk and sugar, but the herbals plain.
If a “tea” does not contain camellia sinensis, it is not a real tea, IMO. Herbal beverage, OK. Tea it is not. I am an originalist when it comes to tea interpretation.
The best teas are sold loose-leaf and are usually found in Euro delis. Most “froggies” do not taste as good as loose-leaf teas, because tea makers use tea dust to fill the bags.
As far as “froggies” go, Greenfield is pretty decent.
I got some Stash Pmegranate and Rasperry a few weeks ago. It’s what I’m drinking now, in fact. I’m not a huge fan; I brew two bags in a huge travel mug (twice as big as the biggest normal mug in my house) for about three times as long as the bag recommends, and the taste is still rather weak.
I sometimes drink Sarada green tea. I’m a little sad that I can’t remember what white tea I drink. I almost want to put white and green tea together sometime- should be pleasantly bitter.
There’s a box of tea in my pantry named “Yogi Tea”. I’m somewhat terrified of trying it.
Everything offered by the Tea Table (out of Ft. Collins, CO, mail order), but especially their wide selection of different earl greys (earl grey cream and earl grey rose and lavender are the standouts for me)
I used to drink Republic of Tea superfruit teas; if I remember correctly, my two favorites were Blieberry Açai and (surprise) Pomegranate Raspberry. Mixing the two was wonderful. Unfortunately, the grocery store where I live doesn’t carry Republic of Tea.
I am a big loyalist to Bigelow Teas (long story). My favorites among the black teas are Constant Comment, Cinnamon Stick, and Lemon Lift, and the herbal teas Orange & Spice, Mint Medley, and Apple Cinnamon.
The only thing I don’t get from Bigelow is chai. Theirs is too vanilla-y for me. I like more aggressive spicing.
First choice: Jasmine Pearl (a tea shop here in Portland, OR) Orange Spice. Next choice: any kind of Orange Spice. After 2 PM: any kind of decaf black tea.
Wow, I want @raclut tea!!! Coconut sugar and all those extras!
People I work with warm up generic label black tea bags each morning with a styrofoam cup. Blech (to me!) Part of the tea experience for me is the cup, the flavoring of the tea, etc.
I don’t claim to be a tea expert, but I find I prefer herbal, green, white or fruit teas. Not a black tea lover. I do love matcha!
@BunsenBurner – Celestial Seasoning has REALLY gone downhill. Back in the day it was OK, but now – aargh.
My latest tea treat: Vail Mountain Passion Fruit – black tea with tiny bits of freezedried passion fruit.
I go to my favorite coffee/tea shop for the matcha. I prefer it blended with milk and agave and served cold. Actually frozen! But they do serve it hot.
