Favorite teas?

Katliamom, that passion fruit tea sounds awesome. Thanks!!

Nordstrom cafes serve pretty good teas:

A little off topic but still about tea - how fun and yummy do these look?!!!

I like my tea traditional with milk and a bit of honey. I stick with a good English Breakfast or Earl Gray tea.

I’m so glad to see this thread! I love loose-leaf tea, and jasmine green is my favorite. I also love Teavana Wild Orange Blossom herbal “tea,” and I believe that it’s therapeutic. When I drink it regularly, it alleviates my Sjogren’s symptoms.

My very favorite “tea” is homemade fresh ginger/mint tea. I peel and chop a large piece of fresh ginger, and boil it in water with some mint leaves thrown in.

(Using quotes for not-real “teas” in deference to BB!)

I love oolong teas. On a recent trip to the Bay Area I stocked up at Red Blossom Tea Company in San Francisco, and Teance in Berkeley. Each of them offer a wide variety of tasty oolongs.

For cold brew, my favorite is Earl Grey White Tip from Tea Source.

@abasket I make it in a saucepan and then strain it into a Styrofoam cup to take it with me in the car. (coconut sugar or honey from Trader Joes along with some milk)

@hanna Try Tazo chai tea. I have had it and it is pretty good.

I love the Teapigs licorice and peppermint tea. It has a naturally sweet and refreshing flavor.

My favorite is Adagio’s Irish Breakfast! So, so good.

So many great suggestions on this thread! Love it!

The technical term for an herbal “tea” is tisane. That word just never seems to catch on.

How timely that this thread came up - D1 just arrived this afternoon for the weekend and brought my birthday present… from DAVIDsTEA… an originally Canadian retailer that has expanded to the east coast and midwest. She shops in their Boston store and loves it. The present is a tea cup with its own infuser and lid - the cup lid doubles as a coaster for the infuser after your tea is done seeping - it’s really cool!

It came with three loose teas in tin containers that I’m looking forward to trying. I’d tell you what they are, but D left to go run an errand and her dog and mine have decided to cuddle up on my lap, so I obviously can’t get up!

I just put green tea and white tea in the same mug. I’ll be sure to post how that goes.

We are fortunate to have a purveyor of organic, loose teas nearby that also supplies the better restaurants.

On recent travels to Morocco, we fell in love with Moroccan mint tea and learned to make it with gunpowder tea and loads of fresh mint. I look forward to summer when it’ll be easier and more affordable to make with fresh mint from the herb garden.

My favorite and what I drink every day is Twinnigs Earl Grey. Others upset my stomach but this one is fine plus my source of caffeine.

Twinings Jasmine Green in the morning. Sometimes later in the day I’ll drink Twinings Peppermint “tea”. And of late, at night, I do like one of the Yogi herbals–Soothing Caramel Bedtime.

Ooh, I’m not a fan of caffeinated tea.

The green/white mix was bitter but surprisingly fruity. I sort of liked it, but I’d need to drink it again to be sure one way or the other.

I’m no connoisseur and this contains a whole bunch of stuff that is not tea, but I am addicted to Teavana Oprah Cinnamon Chai tea. It is sweet and spicy and functions as dessert for me. Totally quells any craving for sweets. They sell it at Starbucks. (They also have an all-herbal tea-free version; I like the one with actual tea in it).

Lapsang souchong loose leaves made in a porcelain teapot.

Wouldn’t have expected anything less from @alh! The elegant choice!

I’m old with time on my hands.

It does seem to me to taste better made the old-fashioned way. We don’t use milk, sugar, or lemon - but sometimes we have cookies.
