Feb 2011?

I got an email telling me I’d hgave to apply for Feb 2011 in order to get in for Fall 2012. Is that true or just a typo?

Email from USC
"Please take the time to look at our website [USC - Viterbi School of Engineering - Transfer Applicants](http://viterbi.usc.edu/admission/transfer/). It has all the information you need to know about transferring. We don’t have any minimum requirements, but we do like to see students complete the lower level writing requirement, Calculus II and two semesters of a lab based science. For Aerospace, we recommend Physics. The average GPA of our transfer students is around a 3.6. This is the average and ranges in both directions.

If you are planning on transferring for the Fall 2012, the deadline for admission is Feb 1st, 2011.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks!

I believe its a typo but in another email its bascally the same thing and it also informs that there is no Spring 2012. It doesn’t tell me whteher the Feb 2011 thing is a typo or not?

Second email from USC
"We only admit for the Fall semesters. There is no Spring 2012 application. If you want to wait to apply, you will have to wait till Fall 2012.

Thanks!

I’m worried obviously because by Feb 2011 I’ll still be a freshman but in my second semester meaning I’d only take fraction of the classes I’m supposed to.

unless they changed their transfer admission process, it’s a typo. i applied feb 2010 to transfer in this fall ('10).

I’d call admissions just to be 100% positive. But besides this, if you still really wanna go to USC, I’d apply in your freshman year anyway. If you get in, you get a whole extra year there! That’s what I did :)

So there’s no limit to how early you can apply? I’m going to be starting community college fall 2010 and I want to apply as soon as possible, so is it possible that I can get in for fall 2011?

dream, as I understand it, YES - you can apply for Fall 2011 as a transfer. For transfer applicants with less than 30 college units they will primarily consider your high school record and standardized test scores. (Your AP units will count at USC, but they won’t count toward that 30-college-units total.)

If you have more than 30 college units (as you will for Fall 2012), they will primarily consider your college record, and you don’t even have to submit test scores if you don’t want to.

So you can apply for Fall 2011, and if that doesn’t work, again next year for Fall 2012 - at which point you will be the all-time-USC-admissions-expert!
