February 8...and it's snowing....again.

Are we ever going to have a Monday without a lot of snow? Here in northern CT, we could get in excess of 10 additional inches of snow…between now and tomorrow night.

Anyone else sick of this?

My current FB status is: “Best sound. The sound of dripping water because the snow is melting #saynotosnow”. So yes, you are not alone!

I however am not on the east coast where you continue to be socked with snow. I DO remember last winter in the midwest though - so been there done that!

I’m am sooooo sick of this. For the past 2 weeks, we’ve gotten snow storm after snow storm. And when it’s not snowing, it’s bitterly cold. I’d like to evolve so I could hibernate until spring.

It will be spring in only six weeks!!

And Mondays have really been a bust! The schools around here have only had school one Monday since the new year…and that was January 5!

It’s snowing steadily here in NYS. It’s supposed to snow 'til Tuesday, warm up enough to melt a little, then get extremely cold. I am thoroughly sick of the cycle of heavy snow, followed by warmer days, followed by subzero temperatures. It just makes everything an icy mess.

Including the current storm, 80 inches of snow, almost twice the normal annual snowfall in Boston, in two weeks. Ugh, ugh, ugh. At this rate not only will kids be in school through the end of June, but it’s likely April vacation will be cancelled.

It’s almost 70 and sunny in St. Louis. Wore t-shirt, shorts and sandals. God has a sense of humor.

It’s snowing here until Tuesday morning. My time is down to 15 minutes to snow blow the driveway good enough so we can go to work.

Our state highway crews do a great job in clearing our road. You know it’s a bad snowstorm here when two snow plows, one behind the other, race down the road moving the snow and making a huge racket.

We’ve had varied kinds of precipitation falling here since Friday evening and it’s supposed to continue into tomorrow. Schools here were closed last Monday after that huge snowfall but it’s unlikely that it will happen again. My D has been teaching for 8 years and that was only the second time that schools were closed. Buses get cancelled but the schools remain open, which, in my opinion, is ridiculous.

I live right on a town line. Just came in from walking the dog. The streets in “my” town are snow covered, while I watched a sand truck taking care of the other end of the street in “the other” town.

Seriously considering condo - in “other town” - for next year.

No work tomorrow for me. The MBTA has basically said they don’t have the ability to operate at anywhere near full capacity and they don’t recommend relying on them.

Schools are already canceling here for tomorrow morning. Another screwed up Monday!

If I never see snow again, it will be too soon.

Out in the West, we are experiencing record low snowpack. Some basins are at 9% of normal. Many at about a third of normal. Ski resorts are basically unable to open.

Some of youse must have all our snow.

We’ve had several record high temperature days with 72F in January where average highs are normally in the mid-40’s.

I am sleeping with the windows open- it was too hot last night. We really need the snow pack for the spring melt and water.

I love a good snow storm… I do not like, however, the problems it causes. Cancellations or inability of making classes, job interviews, important meetings, etc. If only large snow falls came on holidays!

I just can’t imagine how anyone is driving in Boston. Where can that much snow be plowed and still allow safe sight lines?

They can’t. Saw the Google news from Mass. There isn’t more snow so far this season for many- it’s the timing. Instead of snowfalls that have a chance to melt and crews have a chance to clear the snowbanks it is all coming in a short time period. Lived through enough winters- too bad locations no longer part of the poster profile or mine would be WI->FL. I don’t miss winter. Been there, done that too many times.

I live in the Boston area. Luckily my commute to another suburb is not bad since the highway gets well cleared. However, I drive into Boston once a week. The snow removal there is terrible! I saw a snowed in bus stop last week. The entire right lane was not plowed, only the left turn only lane. It’s like this in a lot of places in the city and in Cambridge. I guess they did not want to push the snow onto the sidewalk?
