First year blues

She had a major setback on Wednesday and we’re all seriously bummed. Thank you for asking. I’m sure things will be better by the time she returns to school. Things are a little bleak right now, though. I’d post more but I’m concerned that anything I saw here will be used against me by a poster who disagrees with me. The consideration means a lot, though.

I’m sorry to hear about your D, zoosermom. I really hope she starts to feel better soon - what an end to her first year at school - such a shame!

I’m also sorry that people are giving you a hard time just because your views are different from theirs. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I hope your older D’s illness is not impacting your younger D. Sometimes it’s hard on the other sibling because parents (and others) get so focused on the one who is sick.

LiMom, that was a remarkably insightful post. The illness is impacting the younger D. I’ve been pulling my hair out about that part, too, so thanks for making me feel better about it!

Sorry to hear the less-than-great news, zm… :(

My best to all your family!

Sorry about the setback. I sure hope that being able to rest will help her to get better more quickly.

Also, sorry that anyone would want to use any info against you.

zoosermom, keep us posted, please. BTW, I know her health is the most important thing, but I’m so happy she was able to keep her scholarship! :)

Thanks guys. She’s going to get better at some point and we’re going to get a PLAN. Life is better with a plan.

Everybody needs a plan. ;)

when I’m president, Curm, I’m going to require every citizen to have a plan and carry it with them at all time. Like a car insurance card.

Ah, but we always change our plans… ;)

When I’m president, question_quest, you’d better keep that plan registered and updated!

Failing to plan is planning to fail.

my son hates when I throw that one out there…

Sue!! My sister!!

A woman who appreciates plans? Do you think there are others like us out there?

I had great hopes when D went off to college (cure cancer, maybe). After a frustrating sophomore year (freshman year went all right), my thoughts were changed to “Please just graduate in 4 years.”

Plans are best if kept simple. One lifetime milestone at a time…

Good point! thanks for reminding me that my kid isn’t the only one who hasn’t saved the world yet. Sometimes I forget that.

In(plan)transition

Planning is my middle name! :)

My son also came down with mono the last week of his freshman year. Miraculously it was a mild case and he managed his finals OK. Made him VERY appreciative of being home at the beginning of summer break.

^ So you wanna join our club?

D2 had a school meeting the other night (the night of sister’s latest trip to the ER) in which it was decided that she will go through the full IB program and listed her classes for the next two years. I am rapturous over this. Have the actual paper hanging on the glass in my china closet so I can enjoy it’s presence. Not only are her classes chosen, but the path of her main ECS as well. Ahhhh. Life is good.

Thinking of you zoosermom and yours…wishing you all good health, happiness and a well formed PLAN!!! Stay strong and know that others wish you all the best! Take care!

I happen to know THAT thought, ellemenope!
