First Year International student begging for scholarships

Not going to happen. Student visa limits you to 20 hours of work a week, and it has to be on campus (so likely around minimum wage).

Correct. On-campus jobs available to international students typically pay minimum wage or close to it. @Azwad, this means you can earn some spending money, but nowhere near enough to cover your college expenses.

More importantly, unless you can prove that you already have the funds or guaranteed access to them, you will not be granted a student visa. Expectations of future earnings do not count.

I’m not sure what you mean by that.

Is this an attempt at humor? Not really funny or appropriate.

I’m afraid it’s my fault - I was wondering if this student could qualify for women’s colleges because they’re very supportive for women in STEM, which, depending on the college, means being a girl from birth or identity or nonbinary and I didn’t want to automatically assume I should exclude OP from the range since no gender markers were indicated throughout the thread.

ANYWAY… OP is a boy, so, over represented in STEM from an over represented geographical area but not an over represented country.

Essays/LORs/Other

Essay i think is a solid 8.5+/10
LORs are a solid 7/10

Schools

  1. Case Western Reserve university (Lousi Strokes scholarship)
  2. Drexel University (Global Scholars program)
  3. Florida international university (generous on scholarships)
  4. UT Dallas (McDermott scholarship)
  5. Uconn (Stamps scholarship)
  6. UNotre dame ( Stamps scholarship)
  7. Villanova University (Presidents Scholarship)
  8. Wake Forest University (Guy T carswell scholarship)

Should I add or remove anything?

I would remove UConn.
Stamps is meant for domestic students and banking on it for a university not known for merit either for US or international applicants seems like a waste of an app.

ND is need blind in its assessment of International applicants and does offer some financial aid. However they want the CSS, the cost of which may be prohibitive: have you requested a CSS fee waiver already or asked whether they accept the ISFAA (similar to CSS but free/online)?

I assume you are applying to ND REA and Wake Forest EA - correct?
Are you done with supplements? Have you had qualified readers (such as on this website - do not post your essays online for fear of them getting stolen or flagged) review them?

I have had one person review my essay and I’m currently working on it. Im done with the supplementals, so hopefully I’ll be done with the minor tweaks within tomorrow. Im planning on submitting all applications within tuesday and I’m able to afford the CSS profile so that wont be a major issue. I also got the fee waiver for every university I am applying to; so adding more universities wont be a burden on me.

Take a look at the Stevens Institute of Technology. They have a global scholarship.

So, ND REA, Wake EA - are you applying anywhere else EA?
(Note that you can’t apply ED anywhere).
