First year--questions regarding double majoring/signing up for classes

Hi! I am going to be a first year next year, and I just have a few questions. First, how doable is a double major in Politics (I don’t know if I will want to do foreign affairs or gov yet) and Human Biology? I am really interested in both, but I haven’t heard from anyone about how rigorous these majors are. Second, are we supposed to sign up for classes before orientation? Thank you in advance!

You should research requirements and various courses and professors prior to registration. For almost all first year students, registration occurs at orientation. Many depts have explanations on their websites of various course choices and alternative majors.

Once you have your UVa email address, you can register for thecourseforum.com to read student reviews.

Many people find this source to be easier to use than the official UVa course listing: https://rabi.phys.virginia.edu/mySIS/CS2/

Double majors are easiest to achieve if you have large amounts of AP or similar credit.
