@jacquelynlee Hi! I applied for Fashion Design AAS as an international student. Yesterday I got an email from FIT about housing on campus and I also received a DHL tracking info email from FIT about the 1 lbs package to my hometown. However, I did not receive any email about acceptance or rejection until this stage. I believe it is weird to receive this package since the decision has not been made yet. Would you give me some advice?

Just want to say here’s an update!
I visited to FIT admission today in order to know to be accepted or not because I didn’t receive any letter or email so far. Anyway they checked my student ID# and told me “We don’t decide yet, it will take A COUPLE OF WEEK maybe…”
and then “It’s not bad news, right?” I said… ok… thank you…
Actually it’s possible because I completed my application status on 31st January, almost the last day of application available period. So I am still holding hope. Plus I was on the waitlist for Spring16, at that time, I also waited A LOT OF time to get a decision. it was really killing me. So people who don’t still receive a letter like me, let’s hang in there!!!
do you guys think that if we haven’t gotten an email, but our letters have been sent out, that we probably didn’t get in?

@dtrphn I think that you’re in! I mean, you got the housing email and the package is 1 pound sooo. Trust me, 1 pound rejection letters do not exist. It’s safe to say that your decision has been made. See you on campus next year!

@xMegancx I did that before. And it takes time like a week or so. That’s why I’m so worried cause my essay was written for me to be a design major but I changed it to FBM and I couldnt change my essay.

I unfortunately got waitlisted. . . for Fashion Business Management two year AAS Program. . . I literally cried. I know that it doesn’t mean i didn’t get in but my heart like broke into pieces. . . and it says to send in an updated transcript and I’m literally scared cause i got a 67 in physics last quarter. . . so uhh I’m kind freaking out right now. . .

@xMegancx Im gonna call on Monday and ask if my chances are better, I still have my essay problem though. I just dont want it to seem like I don’t know what I want.
@Bft9280 To be honest- probably my GPA. I had a 3.5. But that’s all I can think of. My essay was really good. I had 3 teachers go over it. I’m a senior in high school but I took 4 classes at my community college this year along with my APs and honors courses. Plus a course I took at FIT. So I’m thinking my GPA.
@Samm1998 but a 3.5 is good. Im worried cause if I dont get in and I have to come back to my current school I have no where to live. So like this is legit my only option. My mail usually takes forever so Im hoping that its not waitlisted.
@Samm1998 Well… I think you are good enough. My GPA is 3.8, decent essay and made everything in time to meet priority but i was on waitlisted last spring semester. I re-applied this fall semester. I think It is all about when your application is evaluated. I found some people got their letter even they applied late or have 3.1 GPA. FIT is so random… I’m still waisting for my letter.
Anybody knows who got rejected/waitlisted recently, what is the date marked on their letters ?
I just got my acceptance packet today! It was postmarked for 3/28 and I live in Florida.
