An admissions person called me today and asked me to send my AP course final grades and my college transcript with spring grades on it to see what could ultimately transfer! Guessing this is a good sign!

@hauseofemily nope. Haven’t gotten anything. I asked if that was what’s holding up my decision and he said yeah, they need my scores to see what credits will actually transfer. So I gotta wait even longer now!
I was waitlisted for FBM and I called the admissions office today and they said there is no specific date on when they will send out their decision, it ranges now from to the week before classes begin.
@annafarrell Oh!! I don’t know why I read that as you were transferring to the Spring semester. That sounds promising though!
Just got my letter in the mail! I’ve been wait listed. I’m definitely going to remain on the waiting list, I really hope & pray that I am accepted

@annafarrell I was asked to take CLEP in first week of March or withdraw and apply for spring.I took the test and earned my missing credits yet I haven’t heard from them. They said they will review my application soon.
Has anyone applied for 2 yrs BS ITM? anyone there waiting to hear?

I was waitlisted as well and talked to an admissions advisor and he said we can hear back anytime from now till july. so now it’s just a waiting game.

I was waitlisted for AMC. I’m very disappointed. I’m not sure how much waiting I can stand!!!
@LAsingh I applied for the 2yrs. ITM. I received the housing email saying “Congratulations on your admissions to FIT…” last week, but I have yet to receive an admissions packet or letter and I live in Brooklyn :/.
If you were waitlisted, do you mind sharing your GPA? I thought a 3.3 with a lot of retail and buying experience would have been enough. We were told a strong B+ would be fine. Seems like most of the students accepted to the FBM program had GPA’s are 3.5 and above.
i am an international student as well, and have not received any decision yet! the cringe is real :-/
From everything I’ve read your GPA doesnt really matter with FIT. It’s important to have good grades but analyzing your GPA down to the decimal point seems like a waste of time. I think its about all of your qualities put together. Like your essay, how much experience you have, and if they can feel that you really want it.
@CosmeticQueen18 - I hope your right!! Unfortunately everything I’m seeing points to GPA. The students admitted to the FBM program have really really strong grades, I haven’t seen any one that shared their info below a 3.5. There were several 4.0 and even 4.3! Check out the FB page for the class of 2020. Lots of info there.
This girl got accepted into FBM with a 2.9 GPA! So it’s definitely not all about grades. But she probly had real good experience or a kick ass essay. I have a 2.9 GPA so I pray my essay and experience is good enough! All I can say is that I tried!

@Ivwomen Hello! I got admitted into FBM as a transfer student. I have a 3.1 GPA. My transcript is not the best I have a lot of W’S. And I have absolutely no work experience. It’s really all about how strong your essay is and proving to them that you really want it and are going to work for it. Yes obviously grades matter but I know that’s not the big decision maker.
Thanks @Aavalos95 , I’m not sure now what got me waitlisted. I thought it was my GPA but maybe it was my essay but I talked about all of my experience managing a boutique working 25+ hours a week, going to shows and buying and my absolute love for this industry and my GPA is 3.3. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see. I feel so defeated.
