FIT Fall 2016 Applicants

Waitlisted for FBM. Anyone know how long the waitlist is or if admissions will tell me where I am on the list?

FBM
SAT 2230
GPA 4.3
Still waiting ;(

The international applicants, which countries are u from? Am from Uganda, East Africa

@BarbieHer i am from portugal, but i live in Qatar. no mail yet. my career is on hold because of this decision letter.ughhhhhh

@jewelbru did you get in touch with FIT admissions about your issue?

@divinecurse that’s what I was wondering! I’ve not seen a lot of AMC acceptances/rejections besides those who are two year students, and I know they were considering me for the 1YR AAS! Same goes for graphic design, who I haven’t heard much about either (my friend applied for that program and is worried out of her mind). Let me know if you hear anything back though

@BarbieHer there was no issue really. they received my WES evaluation and the next day it said ‘processed application’ on my portal. i called them they said its under review. then i took a chance and called the next day and they said the letter was sent out the day after the wes report was reviewed.

@jewelbru hey, where did you see that it said processed application, if you don’t mind

@jewelbru did u ask them why they sent out a decision yet your wes report had just reached?

i’m from san diego, california and i still haven’t gotten anything. i applied for AMC and on my portal my application status hasn’t changed or anything so i’m still waiting!

Just got my rejection letter today!!! It’s about time!!! Yesterday I got into another school I fell in love with so I sorta kinda fell out of love with FIT and just decided to commit to that school! Getting the rejection letter to FIT today was perfect timing since I committed to a school last night. It was a sign!. Still going to be in the city though. I hope you guys get into the schools you really love!!! Remember no matter what, make sure you’re happy! Don’t settle for less when it comes to your future <3

Hi @lolkbye5, Congratulations on your decision. Do you mind sharing where you are going? We received a letter indicating we are eligible for the waitlist but are considering other options in the city as well.

@lolkbye5 what program did you apply for? but I’m glad you had a different school in line!! hope everything works out for you

@Ivwoman I decided to go to Marymount Manhattan College. I’m going to be double majoring in Communication Arts and International studies. I have been attending an international magnet program all throughout highschool so it was important to me to study international topics And with their communication arts program I can do PR/Marketing, media, journalism, etc etc; I’m going to be minoring in Journalism and take a few fashion geared writing classes within that time. I sort of want to be able to do PR for fashion companies/ be an international journalist who can travel the world so the school allows me to combine all my interests easily. Check it out though! It’s not an Ivy League but I’m gonna try it out for the first year. If I love it I’ll stay, if not transfer to another school. So far they have everything I want and I’m excited! They also offer you to take language classes at hunter college (for credit) which is near by. (applies to me since Marymount doesn’t have all the foreign languages I want to study)

@zaynmalikk I applied to the AMC program! and thank you  Hope all goes well with the college process for you too!!!

@lolkbye5 I l was considering Marymount as well! It is a really great school. Best of luck xx

@lolkbye5 - That sounds great. You great focus and a good solid plan. Yes, Marymount was on our list as well. We are leaning towards LIM though. Decisions, decisions…

For those that were waitlisted for the FBM program, would you mind sharing your back up plan?

@lolkbye5 I’m sorry but one more question! What was your GPA and were you applying as a transfer or two year AAS student?

@lvwoman I was waitlisted last year for FBM and I sent the deposit for another school and just waited to hear back from FIT. But I live in NYC so I didn’t have to dorm for either school, so it would have been easy for me to drop the other school if I got into FIT.
