@lexisp1998 are you currently attending FIT? My daughter emailed immediately and will be sending in her most updated transcript, which they requested. We figured we wouldn’t find out until well after May 1st, and even may not know until the summer. Thank you for your suggestions regarding the essay. I wish that the letters stated why you were waitlisted - what was weak about your application. At least we know she has other options and her second choice, University of Rhode Island has a wonderful Textile Marketing program and offers some great opportunities.
@texmomof2 That is a nice list of schools. When you weigh them all out Kent State is a great choice. It is a nationally top ranked school, with a nice campus and it is cheaper than all of those other schools. Not sure where you are on the east coast but although Kent is far it is not that bad. From the NY area it is a straight drive across I80.
My daughter is going to be a Golden Flash and she is on Long Island. Best of luck.
@rebatown and @daddyoffour We are in Texas, so wherever we go it will be a long way from home. We have another daughter in school on the east coast, so NY would have been nice. My daughter also immediately emailed that she wanted to stay on the wait list and has also had her transcript sent. Grades were a little higher, so that’s a plus. @daddyoffour We have just about decided to commit to Kent State for all of the reasons you stated. Has your daughter found a roommate yet? If so, how did she go about it?
She hasn’t looked for one yet. She doesn’t seem too worried about it. She put her housing deposit down back on 2/1 so she should have a good chance to get the dorm she wants which to her was more important than the roommate. Her first choice was the Centenials because she liked the size of the rooms. Her second choice was Eastway. We have visited KSU twice and she is going back for scheduling on 6/4.
On a side note when we were there back in February we took a drive to Dix Stadium which is where freshman have to park their cars. There were two cars that had license plates from Texas.
No, I don’t currently go to FIT.I decided to go to regular college and take all of my core classes and raise and maintain my GPA. I didn’t take any business classes because if there was a chance that I was to get in to FIT, they wouldn’t transfer. To be honest I don’t know what was wrong with my essay. I had a few people review it and my GPA was a 3.7. Being waitlisted means that you’re fit for the school but there are people who were more eligible. I wish I knew exactly what they were looking for. I too am still waiting for my letter.
@rebatown ^^^^
My son did not get in. He still haven’t received any letter. He called admissions today and he was told his letter was sent on march 27. He asked if they could email his letter in view that it has been 3 weeks since they sent it and they agreed and sent it via email. Good luck to the rest of you that are still wating and congratulation to those that got it. Best of luck
I was accepted today! I am a transfer student from Saint Louis, I got accepted into the FBM 1 year associates program
@alsg66 I’m sorry to hear that.
was your son an international student?
@Larriealumni yes he was an international applicant has a 4.1 gpa he really thought he had a solid essay and a strong cearive portafolio really believed he could get in. Don’t know what is the FIT critiria to select candidates. He will attend Esmod Lyon in France were he was accepted.
@coolmichelle, my son’s letter was sent via regular mail. Guessing that only accepted international students get their letters by dhl and receive emails. Another thing the access to the side map to see classes and the ethnic survey I think it was just a general update. We were hopeful when he was able to access classes over the weekend I buy still he was rejected.
I mean… are they even gonna send acceptance letters by 4/31? I’m so nervous and yesterday I called them and they said it’s gonna take longer time since I applied little late. But we have to commit to one of our colleges by 5/1 and I’m afraid if they don’t send me by 4/31…I would freak out.
Also. I was really confident since I got into Parsons SVA RIT MassArt and SAIC so I thought I will definitely get into FIT. But as of right now I cannot guarantee i’m just SO NERVOUS …
My sister also goes to FIT. Will this fact help me or not?
OMG the waiting is AWFUL :((((
@alsg66 I wonder why your son didn’t get accepted!!! I’m sorry to hear that… I’m also an international student so I’m also nervous…
Do they send rejection letter by mail too?
That must be so scary
i got a letter yesterday saying that i’ve been waitlisted. does anyone know how the waiting list works or the acceptance rate of it ?
For anyone who hasn’t got a letter yet, are you able to view “Unofficial Student Transcript” under online resource? I called admissions earlier and they said that that is for FIT transcripts so I’m super confused if that means I got accepted or whaaaat???
@Cassidydemons I think that means you got in??? because I don’t see “Unofficial Student Transcript” tab under online resource and I didnt get my letter yet. Didn’t admission representer never explained what that means?
@bbbyeeee, do you have an Instagram? I’ll screen shot you what it looks like. My insta is cassidyyjane
@Cassidydemons I have that on my portal and I was accepted last week. Are you a transfer student?
I have that on my portal too, but I didn’t get the letter from FIT. I could see my “transfer credit accepted by institution” on unofficial transcript. I am a transfer student. Is it the good sign? When I spoke to admission office, they said my application is reviewing by register office.
@Pankobreading, I am a transfer, but from a SUNY University. I live in Western New York. If you live in New York and attend a SUNY University/Community College you can transfer within any college and most credits will be transferred. However, it doesn’t automatically mean you’ll get accepted into any school in New York, it just means that the general education requirements/classes are the same.
