Doesn’t hurt to ask! Or ask if you can have a few months to try and tweak your good.
I think it can affect it. I personally wouldn’t go on meds after one wild result after a week of bad eating. I would let your doc know that you were on vacation and had a week of crap food and if he still presses for meds, I’d press back and ask for a redo in a month or two.
One of my coworkers and her D - at separate times - had a wonky cholesterol test- and both blamed it on a super fatty meal the night before. Had blood redrawn the following week or so and it was back to their normal.
Sitting on the top of Sharp Top, Peaks of Otter, VA. H’s hip held up really well! Going down I’ll be slow. Lots of boldery steps. lol. It’s so pretty up here. Oh and one REALLY tame deer. We probably could have pet her if we tried.
Stunning view! So glad you made it.
Beautiful view! I assume that’s pretty far from the DC area?
About 3.5 hours maybe? It’s on the blue ridge parkway about halfway between Roanoke and Lynchburg. It’s about 1:45 from us
BEAUTIFUL! Enjoy.
Wow ClassicMom88 - that’s beautiful! Glad you got to enjoy!
My husband is so cheap… I asked him if he wanted to try rucking. Nah… maybe… OK! An old backpacking frame and some MiracleGro and here you go… No special equipment needed.
He moved a cubic yard of crushed rock that way using a HD orange bucket. This is him moving topsoil for the deck containers. A dozen of 50 quart bags.
Whoa, Bunsen that looks so heavy! Your hub is majorly fit!
The funny thing is that he does not look like a super fit person. But he can move stuff and dig!! A couple of years ago when the splicing on our water main broke, he dug up a huge hole to get to the problem area. The plumbers arrived a few hours later and were seriously impressed that he could do this!

1 mile run
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 squats
1 mile run
No vest because all of that is plenty hard on its own! Partitioned it as 50 rounds of 2-4-6. Pull-ups are my nemesis so 2 at a time is good.
I ran the second mile faster than the first! 9:32 and 8:46
Excuse coming.
I had planned a Saturday workout and a day off Sunday. But I had to switch.
Yesterday’s workout was building to a heavy single front squat and then a EMOM of 7 thrusters on the minute and get to 150 calories on the curved manual treadmill, which took 20 mins.
With vest for me. The first 7 rounds I did 10-20-30. And then 5-10-15 for 6 rounds. The wheels began to come off on the pull-ups in the 7th round and I couldn’t string 10 pull-ups anymore.
I felt I goofed off too much. I left a lot meat on the bone as they say.

I biked to the park to do my normal 5k lake loop run. Fun to see all the families and groups celebrating the holiday weekend -lots of picnics, paddle board etc. Then a few hours of gardening back at home. Luckily I did have time to do some stretching too. I really like the freedom of retirement schedule.
I’m excited to be off the waitlist for community beginner pickleball class, about a mile from home. Equipment is provided. Looking forward to the first (of 4) class on Wed evening.
I hope you enjoy pickleball. Space in our local classes goes quickly. When I started my class, I would try to ask each person or group I was paired with if they wanted to practice together. That eventually became a group of more than 10 people who play together multiple times a week. It worked well bc we were all brand new, and we’ve progressed together. We’ve been doing this for close to 2 years now.
Great story!
I’m not sure if I will like pickleball or not - it’s just on my bucketlist to try it. But my thought was that if it is my thing, it would be great to meet potential playmates. There is also a local pickleball group, but I’d need some experience first. If I do like it, there will be an issue with getting court time.
You may or may not know this, so sorry if you do. At least in our area, many local tennis courts are lined for pickleball also, so if you get your own net, there are lots of places you can play. A net will run @150 bucks, but it’s totally worth it if you enjoy the game.
