The specs say it’s a “hang- straight canopy” so presumably some adjustment needed.
I don’t even know how he found the light, but thank you Marilyn for finding it. I believe he got a further discount, but I would’ve gotten something a little more Wow for that money. It’s supposed to be 48 wide and I cannot see the mounting plate but I understand it hangs down by one rod so it should work for sloped ceiling. That rod better have a swivel joint on top!!
@coralbrook - what is the brand of the fireplace he got?
The link to photos on p. 1 doesn’t work for me. Can it be reposted?
@martharap - I will sent you a PM.
Thanks! I got it.
^can you PM the link to me as well? It disappeared from my bookmark somehow…thanks!
Same with me. I thought I had it saved as I have all the other flips saved, but can’t find this one. Help, please!
I don’t think I’m allowed to post any more links to Flickr from new rules on CC. And Flickr is charging an annual fee if you keep over X nbr of photos on their site. Who knew I have almost 4,000 photos in groups and they are all from projects? So I caved in and paid for a year because I was too lazy to try to download all those photos. After paying, I realized that I already have them on my home computer because that’s where I have to put them before I can even upload them to Flickr. Duh!!
Ugggh on the light. Guess we will be making a wedge on the beam.
Another hassle for you, but I don’t think the painted-out wedge will be noticeable.
Brand of fireplace is Amanti. He got it at a local fireplace shop and the guy delivered it to the project. It has been sitting in a huge box here for several months, while I desperately tried to protect it from damage:)
Making Progress
We are finally at the stage of installing all of the cool stuff. Kitchen i s ready for plain white countertop which will be installed next week. Upper window glass has been replaced. That took 2 days of labor because we had to tear out everything, groove out the cement to make channels for water, rebuild the wood base and trim the windows inside and out. It was very dangerous trying to get the long pieces of glass up ladders and scaffolding and into place. Sigh of relief… all done!
Unfortunately, because the owner did not have tile selected for the master bathroom, I had to let the tile guy go onto another job. It’s now 2 weeks later and he hasn’t come back!! These things happen with the trades. He is starting back up today and promises to work on Sunday to keep us going.
We are almost completely painted. It took over a week of labor and about 15 gallons of primer and paint to get that living room ceiling painted out! Our wall color is Behr Canyon Wind which is a very pale grey that pops the white trim, if we ever get to painting the trim.
I’m taking the scaffolding back to the drywall guy today so they better have everything completed that needs a scaffold. I’ve been carefully looking at everything to make sure we do not need it anymore. Large living room light is installed and the painter insists he can get up into that upper window area for final painting with just a ladder.

Hope you can replace the broke light globes…with just a ladder. The light is fine.
The lights in the kitchen drawers are just plain stupid.
I don’t think I realized how wonderful the view is. That’s rather spectacular.
The light looks great. The drawer lights are rather silly…
The light and view are winners. No comment on the owner’s taste about other aspects.
Poor owner…when the power goes out, he won’t be able to see the things in his kitchen drawers ?
I really, really like that living room fixture. Like most here, I can think of other ways to spend money than on drawer lights. Whatever floats his boat, though.
Can someone also PM me the photo link please.
