coralbrook, maybe for your own sanity and serenity you should step away from the thread. You need to focus on responding to any offers that wander by without our influencing you. You know your market and you know what’s reasonable. We can be cheerleaders, but we really don’t have the knowledge that you do.
I’d love to hear what’s happening blow-by-blow, but you don’t want uninformed people like us yelling at you to “Take the offer!!” or “Counter the offer!!” or “Hold out for the Oregon couple!!”
I think you are giving us way too much credit if you think we can influence her in the sale. Picking out paint colors and light fixtures is one thing, but I think she’s got the money part under control.
They countered back within 2 hours meeting me halfway. I’m sitting on it for a bit. My agent definitely has an opinion about it, but I may go against her wishes
I think you should hold tight at your price. Obviously they want the house, and a few thousand isn’t going to change that. You dropped a large amount from your asking.
If you have a different opinion, that’s why I said you should step away from the thread!!
I get the sense that coralbrook’s posts are for the mostpart the sharing of updates, with happiness and intermittent frustrations, as to her progress and plans. We have been happy and fortunate to be able to share in this journey and occasionally to provide thoughts and suggestions that are hopefully helpful or worthy of consideration. But coralbrook seems to have a very good head on her shoulders, and its unlikely the thoughts or opinions shared here will take her off her well directed, and experienced track.
Good luck with what will hopefully be multiple offers!
cb, I join others in wishing you well and anticipating a deal that makes all of the hassle and expense and worry see worth it! Best of wishes as you contemplate and respond to the offers that come your way. It’s such a great house (now!).
Sounds like the Chicago couple is REALLY Interested and knows what a great place you have created! Best of luck this weekend, getting a great offer on a job well done!
We have a deal!!! Documents being drawn tomorrow and I will share all the nail biting negotiations after we sign the deal. So far it has all been verbal back and forth. That is fine with me, I’d rather hash everything out verbally and draw up documents that we will both agree to. It goes much faster. They are promising a rather quick close, so we will see.
Yes, we are not marking the listing in the MLS as ‘pending’ until the contract is signed tomorrow about noon. My agent is representing them as buyers also (big savings in commission for me) and they are meeting at noon to sign the paperwork. So, there will be at least one known showing before then and I will take any offers that come in.
But, this is the first offer that has come in 10 days and I was getting nervous. I decided I needed to take the bird in hand.
