Flip This House #5

I was going to suggest a sort of dusty lavender color. What about a yellow?

I was going to warn you that the lower grey was leaning purple as the green brought out the red tones in the grey, not realizing that’s your goal! Like VeryHappy, a deep navy such as MB’s Hale Navy had occurred to me. It’s hard to discern accurate colors on a monitor, though.

I will get a deep navy and try it also.

Yesterday we started trying to deal with two stupid detail dilemnas. The drywall on the hood above the stove vent is sticking out about 1/4 to 1/2" outside of the stainless vent sides. We are struggling on how to finish up this detail

Then the stupid refrigerator would not suck back into the hole completely. After much agony trying to get it in as far as possible there is still 1/2" of plastic side sticking out. I hate it. Go back to the exact dimensions of frig and discover that it is 24 1/2" deep. Why would they make a counter depth refrigerator 24 1/2" when all cabinets and panels are 24"??? Ugggh, I have to live with it. It’s either that or go to the back of the hole and cut out all the drywall to get that frig back another 1/2"!!!

I loaded a couple of photos that show the issue

Maybe that extra 1/2 inch is why it was returned!

Probably  But, it was still fully packaged so I don’t think anyone ever took it out to even try to install it.

It’s very annoying but I am going to have to live with it. The guys installed it while I was up in Miramar getting some stuff. My carpenter knows that I am an absolute stickler about the refrigerator flush with panels and cabinets. They tried everything and knew I would blow a stack as soon as I got back. But, in this case, I don’t think there is anything we can do about it. First time I ever said “Oh well… it is what it is” about the refrigerator

My metal inserts arrived yesterday and I want to try to get those installed today. I had to buy 24" x 36" panels and we are going to have to cut them to 14" x 35" very carefully (without denting them!)

My counter depth fridge is over 24 inches deep. And yes, it does stick out a bit from the adjacent cabinets. But far less than a full size would!

Have you ruled out cutting out the drywall behind the fridge? It’s hard to tell how big of a problem it is from the picture, but once it is pointed out it is a bit irritating.

House is looking great.

Really…that fridge looks FINE. Another question…if it went in to the nook more…would the doors even be able to open? I honestly think it looks fine.

The only counter depth fridges we found that were 24 inches were subzero and the like. Others (like ours) are deeper.

In the powder room, maybe a very pale gold to bring up the warmth of the wood floors and pick up the brass of the faucets? A dark wall with the dark floor might close in the small room.

I don’t think those faucets are yellow brass, @Marilyn. At least I hope not!

Imstill think a butter yellow might be worth a try.

If you have space behind the fridge I think it would be worth the time and expense to deepen the space so you have the look you want. you ONLY paid $1500 for the fridge- I know you were expecting to have to pay more than that!

Before you move that fridge an inch…make sure the doors will open without banging into the walls adjacent.

@thumper1 - from the pictures and the description of “antique style solid brass faucet”, I’m assuming the faucets have some kind of muted gold tone. They are not silver. I never suggested they were yellow brass.

With the green vanity, yellow walls might start looking like an Easter basket.

On my monitor the grey looked kind of lavender and I really liked that. I think a pale pink might work too.

CB…are the powder room faucets tinged with a yellow color?

@Marilyn my powder room faucets are almost like those…solid brass…and silver…no gold tinge at all.

Around here that gold tinge was in style in the 80’s.

Hoping CB clarifies when she can.

What color is the door to the powder room? Is it one of the black ones? I think rich dark colors can be great in a small powder room, but a dark brownish black door with navy walls seems iffy.

Is the vanity close to BM’s Waterbury Green HC-136?

@Marilyn, there is a photo of the faucets. They are not brass on the exterior. They are chrome or something of that nature: silver. Like the sconces.

The powder room faucets are chrome, but the heavy real chrome (not the plastic chrome). They were really expensive from my friend who accidentally ordered 2 of them

The door is black inside and outside. So, if it is open when you walk by it might be too much dark stuff

I am investigating a navy blue sample right now. I put up something very similar to that Hales Navy and i personally feel it is stunning. But not sure it is stunning with the green vanity. Dang it

What I am contemplating is a full wall of the hand made subway, silver mirror and chrome sconces with chrome faucet and vanity against the white subway wall and dark on other walls.

The doors are a true black. Its only the windows and doors in living area that have the expresso color

Refrigerator can still open fine if we went further into hole. I’ll take some photos and load them tonight.

I just don’t want to tear out drywall because if anyone pulls out frig in future there will be an ugly mess back there.
