Flip This House #5

CB- this flip is absolutely STUNNING! well DONE!!! :-bd

It sure is!

Around this area, people rent out their garages to people, not cars  . You can get homes with room for multiple cars but not under several million $$. This is around the corner from the Liggett house and it only garages two cars: http://www.sdlookup.com/MLS-160051307-3628_Garrison_St_San_Diego_CA_92106 This one, on the other hand, has a "secondary garage which offers additional parking housing up to ten vehicles. @Marilyn, I was thinking of renting garage space in some industrial wasteland border area.

UGHH…the Garrison house looks like it was built by the Liberace house owner’s richer cousin.

The other one certainly lives up to its name: Casa Magnifica. (What kind of person names their house that??)

I’m hoping you won’t find “the perfect buyer.” Instead, may you find the two or more “perfect buyers” who are determined to have this fabulous house and will enter into a rapidly escalating bidding war!

$18.8 million and there’s only 5 pictures? That’s disappointing.

“Master Bedroom: 40x38” That’s about 30% bigger than an entire floor of my house.

ETA: I found more pictures: http://savvytours.com/virtual_tours/50175/photos

Wow. I wonder how many full-time staff are needed to maintain this place.

“The other one certainly lives up to its name: Casa Magnifica. (What kind of person names their house that??)”

Yup. My bet is that he is one of those guys that trusts and estate law students typically read about in their casebooks. Or should I say his offspring suing each other over their share of the estate.

That large $18 mil house has a huge chunk of prime land. That’s what you would have to pay to get a huge garage around here because the high prices are land value.

That Garrison house…that had to be remodeled in the Miami Vice era. Pink shiny marble all over the walls??

My agent got another call. An agent wants to preview house on Friday and guess what! He’s looking for house with big garage for extra cars!!

Southern Californians and their cars!

Jay Leno downsizing?

I have to say that it would be beyond ironic if what sold someone on this house was the garage!

Who knows if the buyer even has several cars. We are trying to downsize to one car. One. Mr. wants our next place have a 3 car garage (common where we live). WHYYYY??? Just in case. He is not a car nutcase.

CB, is it possible this is for the same client?

I was thinking the same thing as @VeryHappy. Is it possible that this same person is shopping agents all over the area?

I was wondering that, too.

Yes, that occurred to me as well. When you’re local it’s pretty easy to get a sense of the best agents in a particular area, but it’s more challenging for out-of-town buyers.

This afternoon the preview agent stopped by to look at the house to be able to tell her client about the house. The client lives in Pt Loma in an area that does not have views and has two main criteria… 3 car garage and views. I had no idea that big garages was such a big deal or I might as well have built a bigger one!

If someone just wants a big garage so they can have tools and a workshop… we’ve got the house! But if they are truly looking to store 3-4 cars, this is not the house.

Evidently most of these clients are looking for under $2 million so we are in a good position.

Some of the cabinet handles are on and it definitely improves the kitchen. I loaded a photo

But I’m having an issue with the other handles because all of the screws that came with the handles are 1" long and they are too long for the handle install. I have to search the universe for 7/8" cabinet screws (which I know don’t exist). Pretty sure that I will not get all these handles installed before Thursday’s photos. Ugghh

Tommorrow is an exciting day because the accordion doors will get installed and we are going to try to get the large Anderson patio door on the balcony. Floor guys did major sanding today and put putty in all the holes. There’s a lot of holes in the natural solid walnut that have to get filled up. Tommorrow they will sand it again and then first coat of sealant goes on. But they aren’t going to put the sealant on until doors get installed.

Screws that don’t exist can always be found at Tacoma Screw! Mr. is very fond of that place, but I do not think they are in San Diego.
