@VeryHappy If I am not mistaken, the smaller doors at the bottom might be warming drawers, not actually oven space.
The Mills Act historical designation means that you can possibly save 20-70% on property taxes.
@VeryHappy @snowball My parents still have a comparable era range. The drawers at the bottom are just storage. The right side is an oven; left side is a broiler. The oven capacity is small! I don’t know how she cooked for the holidays…we had a big extended family in the area too
Oh, I’m disappointed! I’d love an oven with one normal size oven and three smaller ones. I cook lots of pies and casseroles, and they’re only maybe five inches tall at most. I don’t need to heat an oven that’s 24 inches tall for that.
Love that house, except the kitchen. It could be redone in keeping with the house and be better to cook in.
Too bad about the flight path.
Those colorful Smeg appliances would look just right in that kitchen. With white cabinets.
Crazy agent is at it again.
This is the agent that did not even acknowledge my competitive offer for Stern. He had another listing one street over at the same time. He brought it out at a low price expecting a bidding war. The bidding war did not happen. Since then he is all over the map

For some reason he threw up the exact same church steeple picture (I’m guessing to try to say views with a 2nd story) as he did on the Sterne listing.
Original asking price $695k
10 days later he changes asking price to $850k
10 days later he changes asking price to $925k
Then he expired the listing and now he has brought it back out as ‘new’ listing at $880k
This tells me that he was never going to accept the $695k to begin with
Here’s a house where they clearly thought, “Why should we straighten up!” http://www.sdlookup.com/MLS-170060418-2832_Cowley_Way_San_Diego_CA_92110
What a mess. But cute house.
@coralbrook: What a weird guy. I was going to say “sleezeball,” but maybe he’s just stupid. Anything he touches turns to garbage. Is there anyway you can warn prospective sellers to stay away from this moron?
There’s a “theme word” in many of the interior pictures. And did anyone notice the hand with the remote?
I didn’t see that hand with the remote!!
It boggles my mind that Sellers insist on staying in the house and watching TV while agent tries to take photos. It’s usually not a good situation…either tenants not cooperating or holdover squatter relatives refusing to leave after Grandma/Grandpa dies.
Definitely a Grandma house!!!
Did you see the ss pot on the floor by the fireplace in the “remote hand” photo? I bet it is the dog’s water dish.
(The dog is pictured on the bed in one of the bedroom photos).
I want the sewing machine in the hand picture.
How did I miss the sewing machine?!?
There’s a discarded orange peel and empty juice bottle on the kitchen counter! The agent must have just given up.
Wait, is that a can of creamy frosting on the dresser in the bedroom? Egads!
We could play “I Spy - the real estate horror edition” for hours here.
@Marilyn - if they can get $715K for that house why bother to clean up! Just shows how crazy things are here in San Diego.
There may be frosting and a dog in the bedroom, but at least they tied back the curtains in the tradition of classic listing photos!
As I look at these pictures, I wonder if this is what my brother’s house would look like! His girlfriend left him due to his “issues”, one of which is being a slob. I can only imagine that his house is worst than this, and the agent is pulling out his hair trying to get my brother to clean up before listing. My brothers way to handle the situation is to not list the house and wait to be thrown out
I understand if a house is cluttered, but can these agent not get the family to put dirty dishes away and food off the tables? Even if everything was thrown to the other side of the room while the picture was taken, and then put back, at least you might get someone to walk through the door.
