Understandable; you love the look but need the function more.
Simple shaker style, no modernism or Marie Antoinette anything. The waves and pearl pennies do not say “feminine” to me at all. They are simply beautiful. No gender stereotypes attached.
Sorry Marilyn. I can’t stand anything with claw feet. I am allergic to that - yeah, that and fake distressed, aged stuff. And I detest vessel sinks. ?
I love the white ceiling. I know it was a hard decision, but it is lovely!
CB herself said she wanted a more feminine direction and had that in mind when she picked tile. Not my word, just one I kept in mind while researching rather than what I personally would prefer. My point is that one’s personal taste (or allergies) is just that, not an absolute standard used to diminish or demean other’s efforts and contributions.
Who said anything about vessel sinks!?
You could check out Kohler if price is no object; they seem to have options for in cabinet electrical: https://ideas.kohler.com/article/grooming-space-ideas. But I think their 60” are all double sinks.
The Kohler vanities are interesting. It looks like the vanity tops are sold separately, so I believe you could have a single bowl 60-inch for $$$. However, I don’t know how you’d gauge how much moving the sink to the center would impact the storage function. I didn’t take the time to look at the fine details about drawers, etc.
Apologies if this one has been posted already. I’ve looked at all the links but my memory is rotten! This one seems to be available in white and grey from various vendors, and comes in both a single-bowl 60 and 48. https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Brittany-60-Single-Cabinet-Cottage-White/10764630/product.html?recset=0f5a11a5-7bd8-403d-a542-6d76e599b178&refccid=6ILZBMAJOWMJLUCCPEO26I7FUA&searchidx=3&recalg=63&recidx=0&kwds=bath%20vanity%2060&rfmt=
The storage looks pretty good, but it’s not soft blue you’re aiming for.
I mentioned vessel sinks IMO, claw feet and fake distress belong in the same category as vessel sinks - fads that will quickly date the place.
I really like the simplicity (and functionality) of the Kohler vanities. Of course, they are expensive as heck. CB needs to befriend a custom cabinet maker!
Question and apologies if I missed this part. What happened to the existing boxes? Can they be reused and simply refinished?
Sorry, too slow to edit my post #546. I just realized the “Brittany” I linked has various top options, including Carrara (two thickness options) with an oval sink, white quartz with rectangular sink, or buying the base-only.
Lowe’s can make cabinets in a variety of colors; love this color name: https://www.diamondatlowes.com/products/finishes/beachglass/maple.

^Those Lowe’s cabinets are very promising. Good find.
And the closest Lowe’s is next door to IKEA.
What a great option! It would never have occurred to me that Lowe’s offers customization to this level. And doesn’t cb get a special rate at Lowe’s?
I’m going to head off to Lowe’s with my specs that I already have in an IKEA list!! I am familiar with Diamond Cabinets, they are the expensive kitchen cabinets at Lowe’s and might take 6 weeks to deliver. But worth a try. I used to order all my kitchen cabinets through Lowe’s and my buddy there would throw in all kinds of freebies and work all the sale stuff for me. Alas, he no longer works there.
Geez, Koehler wants $350 for that small little hair dryer holder thing. We will make one ourselves!
I’m starting to realize that I should have kept my original custom cabinets with all the special pull outs, etc. But they were shot after 25 yrs of abuse. I tried to get the interior pull out shelves clean but they were completely stained and hopeless. At this point it’s going to be kitchen cabinets special ordered at Lowe’s or IKEA because I want all the pull out stuff. Problem is that they are 24” deep and the backs have to be cut down to 22” deep for the bathroom. Hate to do that to those beautiful diamond cabinets:)
In total agreement post # 542!
I also detest those vanities et al where you need to clean the floor under them. So many places for dirt to gather. Prefer built in and easy to clean. You know scuzzy stuff will find its way wherever it can.
I visited Lowe’s today and walked away with a set of cabinets and inserts to build my vanity with all the functionality I want.
I walked in and Diamond custom cabinets have a sale 25% off. But then the small print was ‘on purchases 3,000 and up’. I am sure hoping not to spend over $3,000 on some cabinets before I even put in all the Barbie doll inserts and accessories I want. But the interesting thing was that they have a couple of new colors and styles in their ‘stock’ cabinets. The guy walked me through all of the inserts and stuff that I can install inside these cabinets and I think I’ve got exactly what i want.
So, my first choice inside the store was the new Diamond Now stock cabinets that are made by Diamond cabinets in a medium grey.

But, now that I get the pieces home and put them into the room (which is dark and gloomy right now) I notice that I just think they are too dark for the vibe in the room. I can take them back (the beautify of stock cabinets!!) and get the much lighter grey or white shaker that are also in stock. I was not able to see the lighter grey ones because the aisle was blocked. Cabinets for a 60" vanity, 48" vanity, toe kick, fillers and a LOT of roll out wood trays,24" drawers, trash pull outs, tilt out trays at sink and a full 9" wide pull out (like a spice rack but I use it for ‘products’) was $1,550 and then they applied a 10% contractor discount (running it through the bid room) and I was down to $1,400 before taxes. Still have to put in sinks, countertop and faucets, but that is definitely better than all the vanities we were seeing on the Internet that started at $1,500 for the 60inch and did not have all the pull outs and inserts I wanted.

Sounds like a very successful day!
I’m down to the wire on picking the wall paint color for the master bath. It h as been covered with paper and drop cloths last couple of days to paint the ceilings, new window trim and beam. These are all painted with Ultra Pure White. Now I have to choose a color that either contrasts or compliments the tile. The tile needs to be the star in the room. First set of samples were too dark. I have my final set of samples in the room. Have to tear off the thick paper protecting the floors and bring in the darker grey vanity I bought to figure out which wall cover and whether I am keeping the darker vanities or returning for a white vanity

I need to fix the master bath of my house. What’s funny is that me and the family use the other bedrooms and baths but we hardly use the master bedroom or master bath.
The white window trim, door, ceiling and overhang ceiling really look good. I’m glad you’re going with a softer grey wall color in the master bath, as I think too much contrast would draw the eye away from that beautiful wave tile.
