My DS was deferred from FSU EA yet accepted into UF. It’s weird this year for sure. Lots of amazing applicants! Everyone should be so proud of all they’ve accomplished.

Does anyone know what time the decision goes into the portal, or do they roll them out all day?

Hi. How did your son like the fall semester? My daughter is a junior at Syracuse and she’s loving being abroad. I tried to convince my son who is also an incoming freshman to try pathway but he wasn’t interested. Ironically, I think it’s because he wanted to make friends fast which the abroad program allows you to do. I think it sounds like an amazing experience and In-state tuition is a big plus.
My kid applied to 27 schools, including PSU UP, Rutgers NB, Indiana and Miami U. He’s 20-20 so far, but this one today will be the first tough one that he applied to that could go south for him. We as his parents are more on edge than he is. Can’t wait for this WHOLE thing to be over.
27 schools?? Why?? I don’t mean to judge but that’s a lot. Did your child strongly considered all of them? Our school told us 3 safety, 3 target, and 3 reach.

He did. We visited nearly all of them and he saw himself at each. It’s a lot for sure and he will have a tough decision, but he wanted to maximize his merit discount chances. He got a lot of great merit offers with one near full ride and a few in the 70% of tuition range. 9 seems like a reasonable number, but I wonder where this guidance comes from. It could be that if a counselor has every kid applying to as many as my kid did, they’d have a ton of work. His counselor told us roughly the same, but all we said was “we’ll see”.
Because in this climate with schools being loaded with thousands and thousands of apps you have to cover all your basis. It does seem like a lot, but can’t blame it at all.

Son got in. OOS UW 4.0 SAT 1540.
Also got a out-of-state National Merit Finalist Scholarship that includes a 100% out-of-state tuition waiver plus $18000 over 4 years.

dd got waitlisted. wonder if they actually take kids from waitlist?
S25 is in for Mech Engineering! OOS UW 3.7 ACT 35 - although I think FSU re-weights and his would be closer to a 4.0 with APs/Honors etc

My daughter was waitlisted as well. Is this more like a deferral or an actual waitilist?
