So as of now, no orientation email = no acceptance ?
Last year a similar snafu occurred. My son never got the orientation email and was still admitted.
Email->Acceptance
NoEmail->Acceptance still possible
(this is just going by last yearâs thread)
Out of curiosity - why UF? We are also considering UCF as well. In fact, my kid would definitely prefer UCF over FSU at this point. Weâre not sure if she will choose UF over UCF either - mainly b/c she got into the Honors at UCF and they are giving her decent merit.
thanks for the link!
Did you come across anyone who got the email last year who did NOT get in? Again - on Facebook, the college advisor on the Florida college page said that last year some people who got the email did not get in. It seems likely that the email is a good sign - but the college advisor strongly suggested that the email should not be given any weight.
For us personally it is because of his major. S24 is planning on majoring in engineering and UF is ranked significantly higher than FSU.
I would even say that UCF is higher than FSU for engineering. Also, FSU shares its engineering school with FAMU.
My daughter got in EA and it looks like the link to sign up for orientation isnât working anymore. So will be interesting if those emails are accurate.
Our thoughts exactly.
I guess we will know in about an hour and a half!
Good luck everyone!!
My daughter is choosing FSU over UF if she gets into UF too. Her brother is at UF and she doesnât like how huge the campus is and how competitive the environment is compared to the compact campus and more collaborative feel of FSU.
What major is her brother out of curiosity? If my kid went to UF (which doesnât seem likely since they probably wonât give her any merit), she would be doing digital arts.
Not a single one.
Good luck to all! S23 is at FSU right now. S24 has applied to FSU - but it is a super reach for him. Thankfully, he already has USF and UCF admissions for Engg., so we are happy campers!
A huge campus is certainly not for everyone. My son is really after a huge school, and we are positive that heâll do great in that environment. He fell in love with Penn State campus when we visited and has visits scheduled to Clemson, FSU and UF this weekend before making his final decision. Iâll be curious to hear his thoughts on both Florida schools.
Weâre applying to Clemson too! I thought that my daughter applied early action - but she accidentally just did regular. So I guess weâll find out at 6pm.
Those are both great schools!
