Essays/LORs/Other
I personally think that my essay is pretty good but not amazing.

Cost Constraints / Budget
my FAFSA calculation says that my family would only be able to provide around $18,000.
already have my 75% Bright Future, aiming for the 100% percent just missing m a .05 GPA boost.

Schools
FIU- Accepted
UCF- Accepted
FSU- Rejected

UNC- Reach EA
UMICH- Reach EA
UofT at Austin- Match?? RD
Syracuse- Reach RD

Most of my colleges are reaches, but I already got into FIU which i would be totally happy to attend because of its great broadcasting programs. If you guys could please let me know which colleges I might have a chance at, and give me suggestions to other colleges that I could apply to,that would be great! tysm.

You won’t get into any of those listed with a 3.1.

If you’re happy with FIU, you’re done.

WIth only $18K, you are done.

Let your apps play out - and then you’re good.

Even if you got into Clemson, and I don’t see how, you’d have no way to afford. The same with Michigan and UT.

But alas, they’re not in the cards for you.

If you are looking out of state, W Carolina is $20K all in. There’s 3 other NC promise schools that are the same…like UNC Pembroke is another.

Best of luck.

Thanks for your feedback. Looked back on my applications and realized that I didn’t apply with that GPA. I only reported my weighted GPA cause my school’s college counselor told me to do it like that.

I think the results that are already in are a pretty good indicator of what you can expect. Your OOS publics are too reachy for you, and even if a miracle occured and you got into one of them, it wouldn’t be affordable. UF is also highly unlikely.

No harm in trying with Syracuse. It probably won’t happen, but I see why it interests you. Would you qualify for need-based aid there if you got in? Because you definitely won’t get enough merit aid to make it affordable.

You’re in great shape, because you’ve got FIU and you’re happy with that prospect. IMHO, you’re done, and that’s where you’ll be going (since you apparently prefer it to UCF).

Are there other schools you could get into? Sure, but they’ll either be unaffordable or not as good as FIU/UCF. Or both. You’re all set - buy the sweatshirt and get excited about having a great plan at a great price. My 2 cents is: consider yourself done with college apps, enjoy the rest of your senior year, and put your energy into getting that very lucrative fraction of a GPA point. Congrats!

Syracuse really wants to see demonstrated interest. My 4.0 (unweighted), 36 ACT (one sitting), top boarding school, excellent LORs, pre-pro level ballet dancing student was rejected from Syracuse, she didn’t visit or interact at all during the application process.

@gvcollege08 hard no for UT, doubtful to even get offered CAP. Even if you got offered CAP, tuition will be OOS.
You’ve got 2 solid acceptances tho!
