abasket, I’m cheating on this…but the Minnesota State Fair has taken food on a stick to a new level…I was amazed at all the options…think I gained five pounds in one night…

If anybody wants to try something new, there was quite the picture to accompany recipes on one of the cicada thread links posted a couple of days ago…

We put mango or pineapple into the blender, pour the contents into an old icecube tray, and insert a heavy-duty toothpick into each space. Three or four hours later, we have instant mini popsicles, which provide an instant cool-down when our temperature and humidity readings top out over 90.

Apple Pie on a stick (campfire food). Roast the whole unpeeled apple until the skin loosens & splits. Remove from the fire, carefully remove the skin, then roll the apple in cinnamon and sugar-- roast it again for a bit, until the sugar bubbles.

Deep fried butter on a stick! That is the winner.

Our local Renaissance fare features fried macaroni and cheese on a stick and frozen cheese cake on a stick. They can be the runners up. Imagine them all in satin sashes and tiaras…

I’ve had frozen cheesecake on a stick - sinful. Wen more embarrassing is the pic that could have been taken of 4 of us trying to snarf bites off of one stick - it was disgusting!!! (But good!)

I also immediately thought of the Minnesota State Fair, and I live in California. I figure if you want a comprehensive list of any and all foods that can be served on a stick, ask the MN State Fair people.

Agree, coureur! (transplanted Minnesotan living in CA here…) they even sell tshirts with all the various food on a stick options.
That 1/3 lb. piece of bacon on a stick was a sight to behold.

Just as we were leaving the Fair last year, saw one of the entertainment venues with a sign saying Beer on a Stick. Curiosity killed us, just had to see. Turns out it was a stick with three holes, and little beer cups in a flight. And it was good, too! ;)
