Football tips for girls

im going to be trying out for my varsity football team this year, i was wondering if anyone had any tips?

Wow! More power to ya. What position are you going for. Coaches might be more comfortable playing a girl in a position like wide receiver where you do get tackled but you aren’t right up in the line of scrimmage. You need to be fast and able to catch. You should work on overall conditioning (running, push-ups, crunches, sprints, etc.) and see if someone will throw the football long to you while you are running. It’s important that you can catch (duh). Good luck! It’s really awesome that you want to play! I love football.

One of the schools in my school’s conference has a female punter/field goal kicker… Coaches seem more comfortable with having girls in that posistion because while they are crucial to the team (they score points and make it harder for the other team to score) they aren’t in as much danger to be squished by the 250lb+ linemen on the opposing team.

Good luck!

wow…didn’t know girls could play football…hummmm…

A girl wouldn’t even be able to play any other position than a kicker in our conference I would think. It’s been done before at the kicker position. Our conference has all the biggest and some of the best schools in the state so I don’t think a girl would be too good at anything else (no offense).

Wow good for you that takes a lot of guts. Don’t let the guys get to you. Ignore their snide coments and rude gestures. If they upset you don’t give them the satisfaction of seenig you cry.
