<p>i know that IB and A levels are more strict with non-american schools (such as UK) where they give you conditional offers based on the grades you get (for example, 38 to 40 IB scores for oxford or 30 for university of toronto ) while american schools consider SAT or ACT scores more and AP levels, etc.</p>
<p>but for those who did got in american universities, post up your IB grades (official preferred over predicted grades) or A Levels and the school you got in 
if you want you can put the schools that you got rejected and/or include your SAT/ACT scores as well.</p>
<p>i figure this can help people who is doing IB and/or A levels to give them an idea of what to aim for if they want to go to universities in the US. of course, i know SAT or ACT is probably more important if you want the US but still…im curious </p>

i got 1770 on my SAT 
IB score: 39 (two 7s in my HL)
got in: University of Toronto, NYU, UC Irvine, UC Davis, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
rejected by: Boston University, UCLA, Carnegie Mellon, Cornell University, Northwestern </p>
<p>So I got rejected by a lot of top schools i think due to my SAT, despite having a score that could have gotten me to UCL or Oxford in UK.</p>
<p>wow I also want to go to UIUC!
I’m going to do the Austrian A-levels this summer and graduate.
I took the SAT, but only got 1580:(
would i have a chance for UIUC…</p>

Waitlisted: Cornell
Denied: Harvard, MIT, Penn, LSE</p>
<p>YES the UC schools are expensive for out of staters and internationals!!! the tuition fee of a UC is low (around 30,000$ i reckon) compared to private schools (normally around 40,000$ or more). HOWEVER, you have to pay an additional fee of 8000$ for the UC while in a private school like Wesleyan, the additional fee is not even $1000.
i end up choosing uc davis. but i dont know…i still feel a bit shaky about that decision.
also i think you should retake the SAT if possible. i have a friend who is an international student, got somewhere in the 1600s on her SAT but was rejected by UIUC. Then again, another friend got somewhere in the high 1600s too but got accepted to University of Virginia… x)</p>

<p>I am doing A-level, and just got my AS result, aaaab on Math, physics, chemistry, economics and psychology. (the b on psychology is absolutely unexpected! but I’m getting a re-check on my paper, hopefully it will turn it into an ‘a’…)</p>
<p>but I only got 2070 on the SAT. but I am attempting again in Oct, wish me luck! hehe.</p>
