My mom like to knit a LOT. We’re about the same size. Every time she knits she makes me try it on, and asks me if I like it. 9 of of 10 times I won’t. Then she’ll start being like “ah but I made the sweater for YOU!” and “I spent money on that wool/whatever!” And it’s like :/

Then she starts to criticize me for only liking “short, tight things” (which is completely untrue). I just don’t like sweaters that make me look like a potato sack.

GAH. I’ve already told her to stop making sweaters for me. But she’s convinced to send me off to college with a lifetime’s supply of them.

GAHHHHHH I hate being guilt-tripped by my mother. :(

Actually, this post reminded me a lot of my own mother. She’s absolutely convinced that every piece of clothing I wear, if she can help it, will be completely shapeless, baggy, and outdated.

Erm, something about wanting me to grow into them. Oh, plus I never wore jeans before eighth grade because every pair she bought was so baggy you could have fit an elephant in them lol. She’s improving now, thanks to me finding out her motive. Apparently she made some connection between girls who wore tight clothes and girls who went to sucky colleges. :/

But yours doing the sweaters for you is quite sweet. I recommend YOU telling her that you’d prefer she show her love for you by saving even MORE for your college fund lol. That way she won’t waste her wool on you lol…:)

Lol, I have friends who have had to go out wearing one thing only to change into another outfit when they got out. At least nice, wool sweaters will keep you warm.

^^^^ My parents are the ones who spend it. Well, actually, I guess I bought one of them, but they give me the vast majority of my money, so anything “I” buy is really bought by them (sounds like “whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling”).
