Fordham Class of 2024

Not everything is out yet; I attended a reception in Hartford last night for admitted students and alums, and they said that FA should be out at the end of January.

I was accepted for the same programs!

34 ACT/4.6 weighted GPA

5 on Calc BC AP junior year, 5 on AP Physics 1, 4 on AP Lang

I also am doing an independent research project on Stem cells with UCONN, and taking college math classes, Multivariable Calc and Linear algebra, with a retired professor.

I was accepted with a Dean’s Scholarship; good luck with the rest of your college process! I’m sure you’ll get in

@theatregirl18 congratulations! What are the “same programs” you were accepted to? What campus?

i got in ED gabelli at rose hill! financial aid isn’t looking too great though  does anyone know if they give better aid after i appeal?

Not so good, that’s why ED is so risky

My daughter is applying in the next couple of days. She is a National Merit semifinalist. Maybe you guys can help me with a question when it comes to answering yes or no to the “need aid” question.

We wont be asking for need based aid since we have high salaries, saved a lot and have enough in the 529. We do want her to be considered for the full tuition merit scholarships. If she doesn’t get them, she will attend elsewhere.

Does anyone know if we answer the question “Do you intend to pursue need based financial aid?” With a yes or no?

If anyone of you guys on this thread got the national merit tuition award do you remember what you did if you were in my case ?

@silverpurple my parents make too high a combined income to qualify for any need based financial aid, but i marked ‘yes’ on it anyways. it doesn’t hurt to mark yes and it won’t make you look bad or anything.

I think the answer to this question should be honest, not calculated to give your kid what you think might be a better chance of merit. Merit aid is decided independently of financial aid anyway, though.

@silverpurple my D also checked yes. Be certain that you do have the FAFSA filed and to Fordham. It is required for the NMSF scholarship.

We are very happy that D did receive the award for full tuition. Still a little concerned about the rest of the costs
and we do not qualify for need based aid.

My daughter was admitted EA! Definitely a strong contender for her, but I’m wondering what there is to do on the weekends there? I hear mostly about kids going into Manhattan or the Bronx, but I was hoping there would also be on-campus activities on the weekends too if she didn’t feel like doing that. Anyone have any knowledge on this?

Did anybody get accepted into the Global Business major at Lincoln Center?

@lovedis Which campus was she accepted to Lincoln Center or Rose Hill?

I got into Global Business at Lincoln Center! Hbu?

@silverpurple

In the application, answered “no” to need aid question as won’t be eligible and still got NMF merit scholarship award. Hope that helps.

Anyone EA for Fordham still waiting for decision? The notice date is 12/19
But my son said that he check the portal and it’s not not showing result. Is this normal? Help
 Thanks.

@Seafirst have him check his spam. He might have been deferred. There FB pages states then contacted all EA accepted students on 12/13

When we attended the information session, we were told to apply for need based aid, even if you do not believe you qualify. File the FAFSA and CSS profiles, just in case.

Does anybody know when RD decisions come out? Is it a specific day or rolling?
