Fordham Class of 2024

Fordham financial aid “awards” out today!!!

How about merit scholarships ??

@otherhood2020 I thought it was Feb 3. Will ask my daughter.

Cost of Attendance estimated at $79k next year!

The letters include merit as well as grants and loans.

@sarrip E-mail notifications came out earlier today. The portal is also updated.

@knowledgeless Yup, $79,289. CRAZY!!!

Website says financial aid awards are “rolling” until Feb 3. My D didn’t get any email today and no updates in her portal.

I talked about how I was excited to take advantage of its location and the opportunities of the city. I also talked about a specific club that I was interested in joining. I would say just try to make your answers as specific as possible not only to the question but also to the school.

Received minimal merit money compared to other schools where my son has been admitted which are giving much, much more. Really disappointed. Crazy process.

We got an email today with the full breakdown of cost, as well as merit and any applicable need based aid.

@captinaloha I chose not to continue to pursue fordham anymore as I got into my top choice

DD received less merit than any other acceptance and to my surprise also need based aid but unfortunately based on the cost of attending this will not be adequate for her to attend. DD will not be too unhappy as this was not near the top of the list.

This is on the tippy toppy edge of what our family could possibly do.
Was awarded the $54,740 presidential scholarship (merit) … still leaves over $20K in direct charges … no need based aid offered except for $5500 in unsub loans, and of course indirect costs.

It is precisely what we expected. We are visiting in early February and will weigh options

My daughter applied regular decision deadline. She heard nothing from Fordham today. Those who got offers today, did you apply early action?

@silverpurple - Yes, we filed EA.

We got $38,000.00 in merit and do not qualify for need based aid. The highest merit award so far but the most expensive school.

@holychild - I normally don’t qualify for aid either but for some reason they gave DD $31,000. Very strange.

Just to clarify - your D got the National Merit Scholarship, correct? Not the presidential? Because the presidential includes room/board. I don’t believe those have been awarded yet?

We have so many different acceptances with differently named scholarships … I could have the name wrong. On the PDF that arrived yesterday it stated Fordham Scholarship $54,740 … she is NMSF
Sorry for any confusion.
