Does anyone else feel like they’re forgetting that this whole applying process isn’t the end?I took some time to do something with people with absolutely no discussion of college or anything and it felt like a huge breath of fresh air. I honestly feel like I’m forgetting that literally getting accepted is just the beginning of life, and we have 60+ years to figure out. That experience today just made me realize how much time I spend just worrying or researching about this stuff, and literally how much of a minuscule thing the college process is, which literally won’t matter in a few years. I don’t know, just feeling frustrated with how much pressure this site and what feels like the rest of the academic audience puts on this. Like, if you don’t get into a top 20 then your life is screwed, or if you get into one you’re set for life. Anyone else feeling like this?
If it doesn’t matter that much, why are people queuing to pay $300,000+ for a degree from one of these schools?
