Formatting changes on mobile?

Did something change today with the formatting when accessing on a mobile device? I’m not sure if this screenshot will capture it successfully, but there’s a header banner about 1/4 of the way down from the top, that stays in place as text scrolls behind it. iPhone SE, safari, current on updates. Seems like other minor formatting changes but this one stands out.

@CC_Sorin -
I’m seeing this too along with changes to how to remedy flags. And also on my laptop.

Add me to the choir.

@O2BonCC, this is not a new thing. The space you see there is reserved for an ad unit that is supposed to populate it. Probably that inventory was not used when you accessed the site and that’s why you were seeing that space as blank.

@momofboiler1, Discourse pushed out the latest update yesterday so this is one of the things that changed.

Okay thanks. Sure seemed different and a definite change to me. Seems like at least it should be anchored to the top of the page rather than floating on top of text. Real estate on my phone is already limited and this just makes it claustrophobic.

It actually is anchored and if there was an ad populating its space your view would be fine. I do however understand what you mean that without an ad the view looks like a glitch.

Right, I probably used the wrong term. It’s anchored in the sense that it stays in the same place; I should have said pinned to the top of the page, so it’s not blocking text mid-page. Anyway, sounds like it’s beyond your control but thanks for being so responsive.

@CC_Sorin Coming back to update after using the mobile site for a few days. Do you have any leeway on where that (banner/header/whatever the correct term is) is placed? If it could be anchored to the top of the page, it would be a lot less distracting than where it is now, midway down.

That header is placed there to allow space for an ad that should appear at the top. We cannot move it to the top as it will then remove the ad placement.
