I’ve checked on Reddit every single place. Obv at least one would have written
I read the forums of recent years and nowhere do they write that there are two dates on the RD
Yh I’m just as surprised as you. This is the first time they are doing this
very confused:(
My daughter’s said 2/27 at 7pm too. Really odd there are 2
idk why i have a bad feeling abt this as well … btw how would you guys consider your stats compared to the average in the cds
Maybe you’re right,
Lately I’ve been thinking that am about to face this big rejection
Hope it comes out right
Our situation is very fuzzy.
-
My daughter has decent stats/ACT/ECs, but applying RD is not helpful.
We couldn’t pull the ED route because our finances are wonky for years 2 and on (big brother graduates in 2 yrs). -
But F&M loves our MA high school students:
Naviance shows that just about all (?99%) of our students are accepted by F&M. -
DD did many (?too many?) demonstrated interest:
- tour
- several emails
- personal tour/special event set up by Admissions
- Financial Aid pre-read
- alum interview
So we probably annoyed F&M too much. hahahaha
I would be surprised if my son got in after his mid semester grades- it was on the line and a reach before that and we are getting the decision tonight. But we have been surprised before, I am however assuming it is a rejection. That doesn’t meant they aren’t just doing two sets, entirely possible others would be admitted so take it with a grain of salt.
Maybe they are doing the clear admits/clear denies today. But no matter what they are doing, it seems unfair and just to make this process harder for the students (and we will hear today 2/27, so it is not sour grapes). The process is already so stressful so I feel for the kids waiting until 3/12 and wondering what it means/meant that they didn’t hear 2/27.
I think their marketing messed up.
UMass Amherst in the past always shared that the decisions go out in batches.
This year, UAmherst said only 1 EA decision date.
F&M didn’t mention anything about 2 decision dates this year.
Don’t they know that we all talk/hunt for info, so everyone would know that there are 2 decision dates. Why not share that info, instead of the additional stress for families?
99% sure my student is getting in and they received an email with 2/27 decision date; not sure if this helps anyone. (99% sure because admissions reached out prior and suggested as much in a different email)
I think you’re right. It is likely the clear admit/deny.
That made me feel better, thanks- not that it changes whatever the admissions decision is but I like there to be hope!
My daughter got the 2/27 letter. We are excited and nervous! Good luck everyone!
Just curious if anyone received an email requesting that their application be converted to ED2? I received it shortly after submitting my RD application. I chose not to do it but was curious if anyone had any insight. I was concerned that it would hurt my chances but I wasn’t comfortable applying ED to any of my schools. My college counselor didn’t have any answers.
We did for ED 1. It’s a good sign for sure.
thank you! I received that email from 3 small liberal arts schools. My parents even received a message but I wasn’t able to visit schools over the summer and didn’t feel comfortable with binding ED. My college counselor had never heard of it and he has been a counselor for a long time.
My daughter did receive that and we also recd an email from the person she had an interview with asking her to convert to ED2.
I got an email for both ed 1 and ed 2 but decided not to. I am suppose to receive my decision today from F&M. My stats (3.96 uw, 4.05 w, 5 APs, 4 honors, part time job, competitive dance for 10+ years, link crew leader, yearbook committee, started my own club with leadership positions, theater company photographer and social media owner)
