Freeman Asian Scholars 2012

I’m starting this thread for those students who applied to the Freeman Asian Scholarship for the year of 2012! Please post here if you got notified about any results!

Good luck to you all :D

p.s: Are there any international students living in the U.S that applied to this scholarship?

Applicant from Vietnam here :D

I just browsed some past threads and it seems that announcement of finalists will take place around 10 February. So we can expect to hear from the university later this week/early next week :)

laminin, where are you from? I’m from Vietnam btw. :D

also from Vietnam  I’m currently living and studying in Hanoi btw. Have you guys submitted the Mid-Year Report?

My friend was notified yesterday that she is a finalist. She’s not from Vietnam.

Does your friend live in the US? I wonder if they’d call or email applicants that are currently in the US.

then where is she from?

No, my friend lives in Asia.

which country does she live in, 082349? :)

I’m not going to name where she lives because I want to respect her privacy. I’m only going as far as saying that she’s from South-East Asia.

thank you 082349
i didn’t mean to invade anyone’s privacy; i was just anxious. SE Asia is enough. You’re a good friend, i can see that. :)

Hi, I’m Freeman Asian applicant from Indonesia. I haven’t got any notification email about interview, neither do my friends. Has anybody here got it already? I am so much worried :(

I think the notification is country-specific so just wait for a few days.

Is it only me or no one from Korea has heard from Wesleyan yet? Also keep me posted for China, where my best friend is from. Thanks guys!

I’m a Korean residing in the U.S. I’m not expecting much though since they said they prefer applicants that are currently living in their country :(

^Are you serious?! Whom did you hear this from, someone works for Wesleyan?

Yes, I called the woman in charge of the scholarship to see if I was eligible to apply and she said that I was but that the students living in Korea would be preferred. However, she also told me that there were students in the past who won even though they were residing in the U.S. don’t be too discouraged :)

Have you received any news about the interview, laminin?

Some Vietnamese applicants just got their finalists confirmation today.

any applicants from China/Korea notified?
