Freshman GPA of about 3.5

I’m now going into my sophomore year at high school and I feel like the dumbest kid on the planet because the rest of my friends have gpa’s of atleast 3.9. I really want to go to a college that’s harder to get into then most because otherwise I feel like i’m not good enough! But I feel like i’m not gonna get into a decent college because of my bad gpa freshman year! I didn’t even try like at all freshman year because I was too pre-occupied with family issues and other things, and now I just want to give up because I feel like I screwed up my future in college.

I also received my lowest semester GPA of my life this year at 3.23 and I also received my lowest grade ever a ‘C’.

3.5 isn’t bad, and it’s only freshman year. Sure, it could hurt your chances at an ivy, but you’re far from screwed, and you can certainly still get into a “decent college”.

I know that feeling man. Learn from a rising Junior.
