Freshman Scheduling Question: Too Many Credits?

<p>Basically second one is first without GOVT 1111 (Intro to American Govt and Politics)</p>

<p>I’ve taken Micro and US Gov before and I’d like to say I’m pretty proficient in both of them, which is why I think that I might be able to do both. I’ve also read through almost all of Plato’s dialogues, and some of Aristotle’s and Socrates’. </p>

<p>Do you think this is too much for a freshman to handle?
Can anyone whose taken GOVT 1111 share any insight to how time consuming it might be?
Will I have a probelm with the 3 and potential 4 (depending on FWS) back to back classes on tues and thurs? </p>

<p>As a freshman, you need to petition the dean of your college if you want to take more than 18 credits.</p>

<p>Yeah I know, but I was asking more about whether its a sustainable course load rather than is it technically possible to do.</p>

<p>ron if you’re taking swim go to the cornell PE website to make sure the course you sign up for is at helen newman and not teagle (of course unless you prefer teagle) </p>

<p>Teagle is on central campus, and Helen Newman is on north campus, right next to the freshman dorms.</p>

<p>For those of you who want to check what ResurgamBell is saying, your schedule on JTF should tell you whether its at Hellen Newman or Teagle</p>

<p>My advice would be to just sign up for all the classes, go to them, and drop one or two if you feel that the workload gets too heavy.</p>

<p>Be prepared to cut one or two of those classes out and discuss it with your adviser at the beginning of the semester. Winter and stress have a tendency to creep up at the same time, some people can do a load like that without an issue their first semester, most I’ve met here can’t.</p>

<p>My thoughts would be it’s fine to try but be very ready to drop a class or two to give yourself leisure time (enjoy yourself/life a bit)</p>
