Frigid Cold and Unusual Snow

Is hell truly freezing over?!

Much if the country is in a deep freeze and the south may get dumped on with :snowflake:! Who knew ?! It’s been a winter for sure.

Post here about your conditions, pics of your thermometers, precipitation- whatever!

If it’s dry and over 50 in your are we don’t want to hear about it.

Ohio is in the frigid cold. Basically too cold to even snow. High today was about 10 but with wind chill, negative numbers. The next two days will be worse! Schools already cancelled for T-W. It was sunny today so there’s that! :sunny:

CT…15 degrees. Tonight is supposed to be frigid with wind chills below zero and windy. We got about 4-5 inches of snow last night.

It’s winter.

But I’ll welcome a January thaw, if we get one!

We were at the in laws today, I walked the dog around the block and told her that we were not to dawdle because it was a day to get our business done!

It was -4 this morning and in the single digits all day.

We are getting lake effect because it might be too cold to snow but the lake is in the 30’s and 40’s still so snow! I’m excited because it’s going to get into the 20’s later and we will ski!

I will never complain about the cold and snow because that means fun to us!

First real snow fall in NYC in last 3 years. It is extremely cold out right now. I may not go in to the office tomorrow because of the cold.

Tomorrow…-7 overnight/early morning in Chicagoland, high of 3. No dog walks for the last two days or tomorrow! Tomorrow’s the last day of frigid cold here, high of 23 on Wed, in the 30’s Saturday. I think this is our last winter in Chicago, woot!

I’ve got @thumper1’s weather. When people hear I board horses they love the idea. No one thinks of days like today (or yesterday, when I was prepping for the storm). Everything takes longer in the snow! I was outside working for 3 1/2 hours today. Yesterday I walked 17,000 steps. I guess the good thing is that I warm up pretty quickly, and start removing layers about 15 minutes in . . .

Yes, it’s frigid here in Chicago right now but no snow or ice. So, I’ve been out doing my usual walks. As long as it’s dry I’m fine with cold temps for a few days. Looking forward to our upcoming travels to warmer climate!

Some ice and snow in the near north suburbs. Not new, but it wasn’t able to all melt during those few above freezing days last week.

20ish here now at the Jersey shore. We got 2 or 3 inches of snow overnight. It’s pretty but also really cold. Today was sunny and ok for walking but the sidewalks and streets have all been salted, so I couldn’t take my dogs for any walks. They were not happy. Supposed to be very cold all week. It’s winter, alright!

Not as cold as y’all but we are having below average temperatures. Mid-twenties at night. Thankfully, hummingbird feeders don’t freeze at night in these conditions, so we are not deploying the heat lamps yet. On the bright side, the sun is a welcome sight during the day. Not a drop of precipitation in the weekly forecast… I wish we got some snow.

My dog keeps looking at me…”time to go for a walk now?!” Luckily most of snow melted and sidewalks got clear before the frigid temps. We did manage to get a 15 mins walk in tonight before dark but I doubt that will happen the next two days. The backyard it is!

21, feels like 8 in coastal Brooklyn, NY, where we had about an inch of snow, eyeballing windowsills and roofs this morning.

@TCMom - I’m in the other Twin City and yeah, it’s cold! I have barely left the house the last few days, and I am a person who regularly walks outside if it’s in the '20s.

Good news is: we are traveling to a warmer area on Thursday. Bad news is: the “warmer area” is Chicago.

Lows of 8 and 5 for the next two days. Not normal for us.

Trinity (TX) is closed tomorrow! San Antonio is expecting up to 2 inches of snow. Crazy times.

On the other hand, we are sunny and mid 40s here in the PNW.

Also Chicagoland!

S and FDil are near you, and they have -18 as tomorrow’s high! Stay inside!!

Here in the east, it was a balmy 16 today. Tomorrow much of the same but Wednesday’s high is predicted at -4. We’ve had typical snow flurries but nothing bothersome; about 4’ currently on the ground and blowing around.

It’s 17 here currently but the temperature is dropping. It will be 10 when we head out to work tomorrow morning. Wednesday will be the coldest day. We got about 4 inches of snow last night so I spent some time snow blowing today. I helped my favorite neighbors across the street with their sidewalk because the ladies were clearing the snow with shovels while trying to wrangle their young daughters at the same time.
