My child did not apply, but curious what you didn’t like about it?
GPAs vary so widely across schools and states, they are hard to gauge. For reference, last year our OOS public high school had a 36% admit rate to FSU, the avg SAT was 1378, GPA was 3.8. FWIW
The admitted stats for this year’s state EA are much, much higher.
Nothing in particular. Just did not feel right.
My son had UIUC as his #1, until we visited it, and we all walked away not liking it either. Sometimes is just a feel, that’s why you visit if you can…
A kid from my son’s HS is a Freshman at Wisconsin that didn’t visit, but supposedly hates it… Granted 30 years ago, but my wife’s roommate her freshman year didn’t visit the out of state school, but liked the pictures on the brochure and transferred back home at semester.
I didn’t like the Big 10 schools when I visited.

Did FSU have a lot more apps this year? Expected to be much different than last year?
There are most likely more, but I don’t think it was a crazy increase. Maybe 7-10% increase if I had to guess.
Did they ever post stats for admitted EA last year?
I think you can find it if you scroll back on the admissions instagram. You can also use the CDS.
I tried that, and only saw their chart for EA/RD combined last year.

Just checked their IG from last year and they didn’t put out EA stats like they did this year, just total in February.
Email just came through that sounds like a prepare for rejection. Did everyone receive it?

We got that email during Early decision too, son was accepted with merit

He was accepted w merit.
And we were told it went out to everyone!
