FSU Early Action for Fall 2024 Admissions

Totally! I think the UF applicants profile is more inline with honors traditionally and the new stats for FSU this year are similar to UF stats now. Crazy change this year!

Intended Finance Major
3.98 UW / 4.6 Weighted
1380 sat
250 volunteer hours w/ elementary school
Internship with local government office

Good luck to anyone applying!

Wonder if anyone here has insight into this matter: would I have gotten Vires if not for my GPA? Am I excluded from Vires because I got Benacquisto?

Any idea how affordable FSU is without scholarships? I have full bright futures for tuition, but I’m wondering about other costs, like food, housing, etc.

Realistically 15 to 25K a year depending on housing, food costs etc

Interesting, thank you! Just trying to consider all of my options!

Does anyone know the requirements for SAT and GPA for the Vires scholarships? And do you have to be accepted for the fall to receive them or can you also get them with summer admission?

My son was accepted summer with Vires scholarship. He’s also a likely business major, so we need to look into the business school more (understand they are building a new facility for them in a year or so). Also accepted to UofSC, IU (Kelley), and a few others but deferred from UGA. With Bright Future and Vires, FSU is a very attractive option for an in state student. The only concern is the strength of the business school and starting salaries as mentioned which may lag behind other business schools. It seems like FSU is putting resources into the business school though, so that is a positive, anyone have thoughts or experience?

I think 4.0 using SSAR scale and 1360 SAT. I don’t know about summer

Could you share more info on how the SSAR GPA is calculated? I believe I have 4.15 according to the system UF/FSU publishes for GPA recalculation, 35 ACT, and no Vires…

It uses the core subjects, (math science english science and foreign language). Add 0.5 for honors and 1.0 for APs. It uses the standard A=4 so AP math A would be worth 5

Try not to worry about what other students might have been offered. Benacquisto is an amazing scholarship. As a point of reference, my child received the Benacquisto letter without the Vires. Stats are 4.0UW/ 4.49 recalculated core, 14 APs, and 35 ACT (but submitted SAT).

Yes, I’m just trying to see if there was anything wrong with my application. Is it possible that a student isn’t eligible to receive Vires once they receive Benacquisto?

That would be my guess, probably can’t stack the two, since Benacquisto is usually full COA.

Thanks for the info. Just curious, are those numbers from a reliable source from EA 2023 and EA 2024? Also, do you know if the ā€œrequirementsā€ and ultimate profile numbers are usually higher in EA than the final numbers on the total admitted pool?

Does anyone know if they have released the definitive total applications numbers yet for this year for Early and Regular?

From other group i am in college counselors are saying approximately 67000 but not confirmed by FSU from what i can find

Agree. I think New England falling behind big time. They aren’t getting kids ahead enough to take AP classes early enough. Grade inflation in CT public schools. Still not enough to get the gpa’s this high. And sat scores are super low in our town high school.
