Game of Thrones- who will live, who will die, who will rule?

If I remember correctly, Bronn in the books was much more cold-hearted. He married a widow with considerable land, and killed her to take over.

Bronn in the TV show is much kinder and caring, for a mercenary.

Bronn apparently is the only character who can’t teleport since everyone else can get anywhere in about an hour. Or in between episodes, anyway…

"Why did Mellisandre have to not survive that night, take off her necklace and all?

I think it’s because her “purpose” for living has been served.

I’m not a fan of battle episodes/movies in general, but I thought this was a good episode. When Bran gave Arya that dagger while he was sitting under the wierwood tree I knew it was for a reason (check out the look on his face as he slowly hands it over), and I knew it wasn’t just to kill Littlefinger, but I didn’t know it was so she could kill the Night King there - that was cool to watch.

I thought the interaction between Sansa and Tyrion was interesting, and I’m wondering if it will lead somewhere.

RIP to both Mormonts. I’ll miss them. So many other character arcs seem to be at an end, so I’m sure the death count will be rising in the next few episodes.

Anyone else wondering if Bran has more to do with the weirwoods? While I think the Night King isn’t coming back I’m not sure that part is all over.

I really hope that there will be a crucial role for Bran somewhere in the last three episodes. Right now, he is just very annoying. Get on with it!! What can you actually DO, Bran?? Why are you still hanging around, sitting so docile in your wheelchair, with your eyes rolled back in your head? (And, btw, when do you go to the bathroom?)

The memes have been fabulous. God bless the internet.

I find it interesting that Bran who is supposed to be so central to the story is a total annoyance.

It’s like when your kid does that eye roll when you ask an important question.

If you have not seen the Cold Play musical, with actual cast members performing, or “Game of Phones” with Jimmy Kimmel (in two parts), check them out if you would enjoy seeing the cast members having fun spoofing themselves. It seems like there is a nice, playful culture among the cast members.

@MamaBear16 - in the books the weirwoods can be the eyes and ears of the three eyed raven. Bran should be able to see out of any of them, and hear conversations happening right outside of them. I can’t remember if this was brought into the HBO version at all.

Does anyone think Martin is every going to finish the books?

^
Doubtful. GRRM seems to be competing with Patrick Rothfuss to see who can take the longest to write a fantasy novel.

It seems as if it would be hard to get motivated to finish the novel now that the series is ending.

George RR Martin seems pretty comfy enjoying all his royalties. And as @MaineLonghorn said, probably hard to find the motivation since we have an ending from the series.

Looking at Martin, I find it hard to believe he’ll live long enough to finish the series. And I honestly think he wrote himself into a mess with the last two volumes, constantly expanding the narrative and adding characters. He may have reaiized he has no idea how to make it all come together and end.

I was watching the trailer for Long Shot today and was reminded how when I read the books (before the show started), I always pictured Charlize Theron as Cersei. In the books, Cersei is supposed to be so drop dead gorgeous that men just fall at her feet, and you can almost forgive Jamie’s obsession with her. While Lena Heady does a terrific job in the role and is an attractive woman, I don’t think she’s a great beauty. I can’t really think of anyone other than Theron (in her blonde version) who could have perfectly pulled off both the visual and acting elements of the part. She would even have rocked the shorn head!

I can’t imagine what they have left to do in three long episodes. They killed the Night King and (apparently) ended all threats from the White Walkers and wights. Whatever’s going to happen in King’s Landing seems trivial by comparison.

I’m obviously overlooking something here.

According to Emilia Clarke Episode 5 is going to be a mind blower.

I would imagine episode 4 will be a little like episode 2 in that it will need to bring the temperature down after the Battle of Winterfell. They’ll need a bit of time to regroup, count their dead, celebrate, and plan for combat with Cersei’s forces. I would think we’ll also see the succession issue come up again, as it had to be brushed aside in the heat of battle.

People are overthinking it. Just go with it - this is why some people are fantastic television writers and we are not!

I like the fact that the end isn’t obvious. They’re keeping us guessing and that makes the ride more fun!

@Leigh22 But…but…but overthinking is what being a fan of Game of Thrones is all about.

Anyone else wondering how Jon is going to handle life post-Night King? Through the entire series, defeating the army of the dead has been his sole focus. What now? Will he have an existential meltdown with an identity crisis thrown in for good measure?
