Sam Tarley, Qyburn, and Bran could put their heads together. Collective knowledge, and creativity between the three could bring alternatives to taking down the Night King and his army.
Beric will play a pivotal role in the Night King’s death. Sometime in the last couple of seasons, he figured out killing the Night King was “why” he is brought back to life so many times. It is his lone purpose. Perhaps that was Jon’s purpose as well. Both were brought back through a Red priest.
Speaking of Beric and the Lord of Light - I think the Lord of Light and the Many Faced God are the only two real deities in GoT. They are the only ones that have shown any actual power (or maybe the others are all just apathetic). I expect the Lord of Light, through his disciples (Beric and the Red Woman and the other priestesses), will be a significant player in the fight against the Night King.
A question about HBO Now for anyone who uses it - we don’t have regular cable, and we have always watched using Amazon Prime. This year, I want to watch GoT live with the rest of the world instead of waiting until the next morning (there is a delay when using Amazon).
Does the HBO Now app broadcast the show at the same time regular cable HBO broadcasts the show?
We have a monthly HBO subscription through Amazon Prime and we are able to watch all the shows on it in real time. HBO Now works the same way. The only shows I know of on Amazon Prime where there is a delay are the ones you subscribe to individually. For example, I subscribed to this past season of The Walking Dead and had to wait until Monday to watch the episodes that were broadcast on Sunday night.
Huh - I had assumed I had subscribed to HBO on Amazon Prime, but maybe I only subscribed to GoT. Thanks - will check.
HBO GO and HBO NOW will broadcast at the same time, but every time GoT launches a new season, everyone tries to watch at the same time and there’s a delay for many people because the system can’t handle it all.
I just want to see Sansa and Tyrion married (again)
Winter is here at last!
Hearing everyone’s theories in this thread has been lots of fun!
I also enjoyed this discussion of the pros and cons of various theories: http://time.com/5566093/game-of-thrones-season-8-fan-theories/
Enjoy the first episode tonight!
HBO Now and/or Amazon better work properly or I’ll be on here complaining between 9 and 9:15pm.
Interesting to watch the possible royal pairings they’re creating, all with a claim to the crown-
Daenerys-Jon
Sansa-Tyrion
Arya-Gendry
Cersei- Euron Greyjoy (which really just amounts to Cersei and Cersei or Cersei and her unborn child)
Arya and Gendry are going to survive. They’ll pair up, no doubt.
Well that meeting with Dany and Sam Tarly was certainly strange. Thanks for healing Jorah, but sorry I fried your father and brother.
I am likely in the minority, but I’ve never liked Sansa. I kind of blame her for starting this whole thing way back with going to King’s Landing and Poor Ned. The White Walkers aren’t her fault, but a lot of the political stuff can be laid at her door.
Wait till she and Dany find out who Jon Snow really is … bend the knee, indeed.
I like Sam’s character so much. Kudos to the casting people. Sensa was 13 or 14 when she went to Kings Landing.
I saw the actors being interviewed. I was surprised that Dany and Cersei are both brunettes.
Most cringe-worthy moment:
“Well at least I can return home now that my brother…” Oops.
@Sue22, refresh my memory?
Dany: I want to thank you, Sam, for curing Jorah of his greyscale disease
Sam: Think nothing of it!
Dany: Oh by the way, I torched your father when he wouldn’t bend the knee
Sam: Well at least I can return home now that my brother…
Dany: Oh by the way, I torched your brother too…
Got to say, all kinds of warning bells are going off about Dany right now. Did you hear it when she told John, “We could stay here for a thousand years”? Doesn’t that sound eerily similar to something Ygritte said to John back in the day…before she died?
Ah, thanks!
Overall a wonderful episode. Dany is a cold, narcissist IMO - no way would I want here to rule alone. What was she about to say to Jon about Sansa
needing to respect her or…before she was interrupted. The Stark women are not going to bend the knee.
Jaime Lannister I admire and and pull for throughout and then I get reminded that yes, he shoved a child out a window after having relations with his sister!
I love it all.
