@DreamSchlDropout Ha! Like @LAMuniv, I was also considering it for a second…until I realized I didn’t think I was ready to just up and move to a new country yet.
That being said, someone I’m friends with on Facebook goes to school in Europe right now and is constantly posting pictures of himself having a really awesome time so…maybe grad school?
Also, I’m curious. @DreamSchlDropout, are you also a gapper or just someone who managed to stumble across this thread?
I took a hiatus in the middle of my UG degree 20 years ago and never went back. So, some of both, you might say, but mostly just stumbling across the thread.
It’s just nice to see some activity in the non-trad forum.
@dancingwriter @LAMuniv
I’m doing my internship at an NGO that works in sustainable development. Three months, then I’ll return home in the spring, get a job and ski and then hopefully use a bit of that money to go to Europe in the late spring/early summer. I got into Brown University and then applied for a gap year so I’m going there in 2015 fall.
I have five copies of that book alone (more Salinger and about Salinger) and I have earnings of it. I love it. It’s one of the many works which I’m drawing from for my novel
@viphan Oh, awesome! Cities kind of terrify me, but assuming I gradually get over that, I’m really interested in applying there for grad school (I know I’m thinking really far ahead, but…). One of my friends goes there and actually chose it over Stanford - she loves it. Good luck!!
@viphan Yay for sending apps! Good luck on your Columbia ED. I’m debating whether I should apply to Columbia for RD or not. I’m kind of iffy about it at the moment, but it seems like an awesome school xD It’s on my must apply list for grad school though. @LAMuniv and I seem to have the same idea haha
How many apps altogether have y’all sent? I’ve sent eleven apps (withdrew two of the apps however) including my ED to Duke I feel like I might be slightly overdoing it, but I’m super nervous that the same thing that happened last year might happen again this year. (I guess I already did get into my super safety, but I was hoping for a bigger merit scholarship. I don’t know if it’s do-able for my family with the merit aid I got…)
