Has anyone received anything yet?

Are there any Texas finalists actively participating/reading this forum?

Are there any Asian/Pacific Islander finalists?

iishninjarawr:

Asian/Pacific islander finalist here! I’m assuming you are, too. Good luck! :)

Yes I am, good luck to you too! what state are you in?

I’m not living in the U.S. mainland. I live in a Pacific island called Saipan in the CNMI, a U.S. territory. You?

@scuba9026

Yes there are! :)

Does the ethnicity matter this round? I thought all the correspondence was coming from Gates headquarters this time.

@queenm860 - What part of Texas; I’m South Texas - Coastal Bend area

@spidermc25 - I live in Illinois.

@scuba9026 - I read earlier in this thread that 250 from each ethnicity will receive the scholarship.

Good luck to all the finalists!

I am a parent and my son is a finalist. He is African American from Arkansas. He is the only student selected at his school. We feel good about his chances.

Honestly, I’m almost positive I didn’t get it. My FAFSA was all kinds of messed up, and they needed to verify my citizenship…it was screw-y, and I’m not sure my admissions office turned in something extra they’d asked for.

Oh well. I can still hope for the best, and I hope you guys do really well, too!

Also, I’m from Texas, whoever asked a few hours ago :)

Asian here in Minnesota, I have the feeling they mailed it Friday and we might get it today even? I’ve checked the mail twice already.

I doubt we will be receiving the letter today. Probably tomorrow or Wednesday.

I think it we be Weds or Thursday for S. Texas. Did anyone pay attention to the postmark date on the finalist letters?

Hey! When you guys said that all my parents would have to pay was the EFC, did you mean the EFC that FAFSA gave us, or the expected contribution that the schools package gave? I’m confused.

I must know the answer to this.

@beatrizhb - They also had to confirm my citizenship. Did you call to check if they have received all the documents they needed?

I did, twice, but I didn’t receive a response either time. I know I turned in my passport and they got that, but I’m not sure about the email from my admissions office.
