<p>i seriously think u won tho. i mean. it welcomes me as a scholar too.</p>
<p>but then two years ago, a person said he/she got the message but ended up not receiving the scholarship. so that must mean this message is default. but it’s SOOO STUPID of them to do that though…right? I mean, why would they let us hear that message and get our hopes up?</p>

<p>I think Gates likes to play with our minds…a new Research Project if you will: ‘How long can the Human Brain contain itself before the worry of uncertainty leads him to complete and utter downfall’ lol I have no idea, but Vega, you sound like a person that is very deserving of the scholarship so don’t worry too much.</p>

yeah…gms is evil. well I hope we all get this scholarship because I really really really want to meet all of you at the conference.</p>

<p>So I called, and here is what she said. The phone prompter does NOT necessarily mean you won the scholarship. She apologized for that confusion. She said that letters will be sent out the secoond week in April for winners…but we all know how they are early with their notifications :)</p>
<p>oooh…bummer. back to waiting then.</p>
<p>Well…I just called and the lady said that all nominees who have made it to the second round have not been notified either…She said by April 7th some more winners and some more second round nominees will be notified.</p>
<p>If you’re under the OCA you should hear back by the 12th of april.</p>
<p>in my school’s financial aid package, i got a couple of loans, including that PLUS loan thingy. would gates cover those loans, even the plus loan? because the plus loan is a parent loan?</p>

<p>Well, I got the thin, depressing letter. Oh well. Duke gave me nearly a full ride anyway… then again, I still don’t have grad school paid for. <em>tear</em></p>

FEDERAL PLUS LOAN- $20,482.00<br>
Total- $41,632.00</p>
<p>that adds up to the total cost of attendance, but a lot of it is loans. so if i get the gates, it’ll cover all those loans? and since the PLUS loan is a parent loan, will it cover that loan too???</p>
