I called GMS on monday and I told the lady this and I asked her if it it’s possible to get a yes or no via phone. she said it is policy to not give answers over the phone but she also told me to call back wednesday…so maybe she’s giving me an exception? I hope they’ll give me an answer.</p>
<p>I push 1 and it always say it is an invalid entry then I try pushing 2 or 3 and that does not work either. They connect me to the operator and I honestly told her my intentions and she laughed and then connected me to my advisor who said that I should be calm and patient. lol</p>

<p>hey guys, I just received an email from OCA asking me to fax my financial aid award letter. Don’t they only ask for this once you become a scholar?</p>

<p>hallie, GMS operates with many foundations, such as the OCA (Asian Americans), UNCF (American Americans), etc. Depending on your ethnicity, you belong to one of these foundations/organizations. </p>
<p>I called and the lady laughed and she said I’ll hear back soon. that’s all she can tell me. hahaha…</p>

<p>if we are all divided up by ethnicity, I would be under UNCF. And when they sent me my letter for phase 2, c’o United Negro College Fund was on the address.</p>
<p>I wasn’t selected as a finalist for the Gates. I was so depressed, I wanted it so bad. What was stragne when I received the letter today was that it says c/o UNCF on the envelope. I’m Asian and I don’t noe why UNCF sent me the letter. Shouldn’t OCA send it? Should I call and asc? Maybe they would reconsider since they put me in the worng organization. B/c I’m asian and they might have a lot of African Americans already, so they rejected me b/c they thought I was blac maybe??? please resopond to my question anyone.</p>

<p>OMG! my friend received the letter saying “congratulations!”…i was really happy for her…but i’m VERY jealous! i don’t know when i will get my letter…will they send you a letter if you get rejected?..ugh…i’m so nervous…</p>
