<p>Hey Guys! For months on end I have been reading and re-reading the post on this thread and never had the courage to become a part of it. But here I finally am!! And it’s such an exciting time to join. I sent my final piece of information to GMS on April 2nd. I assume I will be among the last to find out if I get the scholarship because when I called GMS on April 7th to verify that all my items were received, I was told I would be notified by May 1st. 
It sucks but that’s what procrastination gets ya! Well, congrats to all who have received the Gates and good luck to all that haven’t yet!</p>
<p>soo… i did not receive notification today (its 10pm) but im hoping tomorrow i will get some good news… if not .life goes on …and i’ve always been pretty positive… heck i had even forgotten about this scholarship before i got the finalist letter… so</p>

<p>^^ I’m in the same boat as you. I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan so even if i did get it and it was sent out i wont get it until tomorrow or Monday because you cant over night anything to the upper peninsula, so i just have to wait a little longer.</p>

For those of u havent gotten anything but got an id it is most likely for sure that u are a scholar because in my packet it had my id and it was the exact same one that they gave me on the phone when i pressed one. so congratulations. Those who havent received anything, there’s still hope. its probably the area where you live and the area where the organization is located. The hsf is located in san francisco and i live in California which explains why i got it today so best of luck. i’ll pray for you</p>

<p>Congrats to everyone who knows so far! For those who don’t, please do not give up hope! I agree with Tutimon. It probably depends on your area and when you submitted your docs. People found out at different times last year and that will probably be the case this year!</p>
<p>Congrats Klee888! I live in Washington state too but for me it usually takes about 3 days to get mail, even things that were sent by priority.</p>
<p>You were told that you would be notified May 1st? Wow… I sent mine off March 20th and they received it on the 23rd (mail tracking). Ugh. Does this mean I’ll be one of the last ones or does this mean I’m done and over with because I’ve gotten no notification?</p>
