<p>I’m a black male from Missouri US Permanent Resident. No notification today. I called on Tues Night and my ssn wan’t recognized.</p>
<p>I had citizenship issues also, hopefully they were resolved before the due date, I never called because it seemed like the woman I talked to was getting frustrated with my phone calls. </p>
<p>I know God will make a way. For some of us that might be this scholarship, for some of us it might be another route.</p>
<p>Let’s stay strong and wait…easier said than done but it’s worth a try. God Bless.</p>

Er… it might also be because of the fact that I live in a bigger town? Hopefully they were just busy.</p>

I’m hispanic…from Oregon and I’m pretty sure that I’m the first one in my school to get it!! ahhh i still can’t believe it! You guys, we’re all pretty much set!!</p>
<p>I got like 10 missed call from my mom while I was in school. Apparently UPS dropped it off in front of my Apartment door at around 11:00 AM. Haha. The package is a little bigger than my college acceptance letter packages, and couldn’t fit in my mailbox, so I’m guessing many people will be hand delivered their Scholar Notifications like I was! (I personally like this way better anyways )… It was sent through UPS Next Day Air Saver, so I’m assuming it was sent yesterday! I submitted all of my Finalist documents on March 19th, so maybe I got it early. Man, I am so relieved! Good luck to the rest of my fellow Finalists!</p>

<p>Hmmm question… It says on the app that Gates “Effective immediately, will not provide funding for computer related expenses (e.g., notebooks, desktops, handhelds, hardware, software, printers). Computer related expenses will be subtracted prior to award determination.”</p>
<p>Does this mean that the rumors of “GATES GETS YOU A LAPTOP!!!” are false. :P</p>

<p>I am not sure if Gates has changed the policy on getting a computer. I can only tell you we bought my D’s last year (actually grandparents did) and then into the school year, your FA office can make a “revision” and submit your receipts for the computer and reimburse you. Check with your FA office though, they may give you the money up front, and then get the money back from Gates.</p>

I’ve read through the paperwork and see a lot about discussing with a financial aid officer like what to ask from the scholarship. Who exactly is my financial aid officer? I go to a small high school, so we only have guidance counselors…unless it means from our prospective college?</p>
