I mean this page is just up…I think it was deployed yesterday the 19th. I heard about this last fall in an interview on American Family Radio (NOT the unwisely-named “family radio” which has been in the news this week) with a person connected to this foundation. This is the first year of the scholarship (2011 would have had President Reagan’s 100th birthday), it pays up to $10,000 per school year to recipients and the deadline for applying is mid-March.

GraceMT…I’m not sure what a program key is here…it looks like you can just create a record (or have your child create one) and submit it after you have all the pages filled in.

Thanks! Do you guys think the Chief of a local volunteer fire department would qualify as a demonstrated community leader with significant authority and responsibility? Or do you guys think I should ask the mayor of my town for one? (I am a volunteer firefighter so he knows me a bit)

I would say go with the one that you feel knows you the best AND will write the best about you. Do you feel that they are equal - or do you have a feeling that one would do a much better job for you? You may already know that answer to your question. I think they both meet the qualifications for a recommender so you will just need to figure out who is the best for what you need them to do.

Gang, again, there’s plenty of time on this one (March 11th deadline)…they’ve got a contact link that I’m sure you can ask these questions (all quite valid) on.

question-for those of you that have started the application, when you list your extracurricular activities, you have to select a year. Do we select the year we started or the last year we were in it…I’m not sure…

@Harvard_Hopeful/Georgetown EA Buddy: I filled out one row for each year for each club. For example, I have four years of Model UN. Therefore, one row for each year. That allows me to differentiate between officer positions per year and whatnot. Hope that helps :).

Hey, does anyone know if they will accept one of the components of the scholarship late if it’s just the academic verification. I had assumed that I couldn’t submit the application until all components were in, not knowing the academic verification would only be sent after I submitted my application. I found this out like Tuesday so I immediately submitted it but I think my guidance counselor has been out sick all this time and so the verification was not completed.

Would they accept it if it was sent in this week or is my application automatically disqualified? I just hope it’s the former because I put a lot of work into this particular application.

Applications that do not include these components will be ineligible for consideration. I got that from the Nomination/Verification tab of the application.
